Aretha Franklin and George Michael - a collaboration that produced complete BLISS... it was The Queen Of Soul and her ardent admirer coming together, creating Pure Magic for the rest of us!
MAGIC!!!
RIP to both of those legends
We lost 2 of greatest singers of our time to soon. Thank god, we have this great music to listen to. Love it. RIP- ARETHA and MICHEAL.
In his bio George Michael said doing this duet with Aretha was a highlight for him. (He was a big fan of hers.)
Two truly great voices hitting the peak of perfection. Words don’t do it justice
Aretha Franklin and George Michael singing together is like peanut butter and jelly it just works!
Man, I miss the 80's.
Ditto
Right!
Me too!
The last decade of great music and artists imo!
Miss them all so much!
His voice is so complimentary. His collaborations with Aretha, Stevie wonder, Smokey Robinson, Elton, Paul Young, and queen etc really exemplifies that
This won the grammy for best duet in 1988 and also soared Aretha's career again especially in the UK. George adored her. My fav will always be his duet with Mary J. Blige "As" though. He sang with the best of them, Whitney & Beyonce too.
I remember this video taking over Mtv back in the day 💕😍
THEY ARE FREAKING AMAZING... MAGIC
I was so excited when this came out - I was 16! - because George ADORED Aretha. This is one of the best duets ever. George also did wonderful duets with Whitney and Mary J Blige that were especially amazing (obv the Elton one is iconic). I can't wait to get to heaven to see this concert!!
One of the best duets EVER!!
Have you reacted to Aretha's duet with Eurythmics (Annie Lennox) yet? That's another fun 80's banger. It's called "Sisters Are Doing It For Themselves"! Highly recommended!!
I forgot about that one! Such a good one.
I've been asking for ages
Such a good one
Love that one!
That's a great one
This is probably one of the greatest songs in the history of ever
I love this song! I had the Joy of being at the George Michael concert in Detroit (home of Aretha Franklin). She's afraid of flying, so her touring was somewhat limited. Since she was in her city, SHE SHOWED UP & they performed this song!!! It was Magnificent & I had the Best seats (& yes, George was even more gorgeous in person). He was such an admirer of hers & sought her out to work with her. Now, they're both gone & they just tore down the arena (Palace of Auburn Hills), but these two will forever live in my heart, esp. seeing them together. 💖
George Michael - outstanding and underestimated singer! Eg the only one who is able and can sing Freddy Mercury! Always be in my heart and soul, R.I.P.
He was never underestimated imo
@@caperboy1169 never thought about that kind of view, i've never been one. but you're true so maybe i am an hidden imo by myself ;-)
@@monikabeki6838 His voice was accepted and respected from his first album. Never underestimated. His voice is smooth. But Aretha's is AMAZING!!!
ah, how the heck is George Michael an 'under-estimated' singer? He was literally the hottest thing on the planet...won awards, etc...was completely adored, his voice, sound presence loved all around the world.
@@christopherone1 congrats that you obviously live somewhere where your don’t have to explain what a genius GM was. What I experience EVERY time when I am taking about my GM love you can be sure that you will get arrogant eyes for adoring this „gay-tearjerker-rated-3 singer. But enjoy your statistic and bubbles and keep continuing dissing GM fans
What a fun duet. I always appreciate George Michael too.
This was a perfect match for a duet. One of the best ever. If you want to see him on fire again check out IM YR MAN when he was in Wham.
YUP!!!
The video you must react to is the George Michael tribute to Freddie Mercury with Queen from 1992, George absolutely killed the song "SOMEBODY TO LOVE", Freddy would have been looking down and saying "God I Wish I Was There This Is Fantastic" what a talent George was, and only really appreciated with what a great voice he had when he was gone, R.I.P George and Freddy, truly missed so much.
A classic song by 2 of the greats.
Check out Michael McDonald and Patty Labelle they did a duet together as well
Aretha is a legend!
Yep. Both are
Vocal match made in heaven. Rest in peace...both of you are truly missed 🙏
Tears of sadness that these two icons are no longer with us, but tears of joy that these two true talents came together to produce this gem of a song, for us to enjoy.
Please see the duets George did with Stevie Wonder, Smokey Robinson and Whitney Houston and Beyoncé….truly a legend
And Mutya Buena! On his '25' album
And don’t forget his two duets with Stevie Wonder, and then singing Stevie’s “As” with Mary J. Blige! All incredible. 💜🌟
Love love love love this magical duet ♡
Aretha just kept reinventing herself every decade. Sisters Are Doing it for Themselves with Annie Lennox is a must. As is her Grammy Awards Show performance of Nessun Dorma where she subbed for Pavarotti at a momeny's notice because he was ill. It will give you chills...
God I miss that woman. Her voice.... broke my heart to hear of her passing. Great song, good video, lovely days gone by.
One of the greatest duets ever! From the 80s! Miss them both dearly!😢Rip🙏to the both of them. Sorry I’m a grown men! And I feel like crying watching this duet and knowing that they’re now gone to the heavens!😢definitely one beautiful song 🎵
I smiled ear to ear watching your reaction, dear.
I've always loved this video and song, it makes me emotional now that they're both gone but not in a sad way really...it feels good seeing them strong and healthy and doing what they do, creating art
Fabulous!!
I love this song! I used to play it all the time when I used to go to a bar after work with friends. The bar had TV's that you could play music videos of your choice on them. I played this song almost every time I was there.
2 legends together, so sadly missed ❤️
One of the best duets ever ❤ So happy that they did this before passing 👏
I imagine that this is what heaven sounds like 👍 😍
I have always loved this beautiful duet. Yes I did dance to it !
At the time when this song came out, I thought it was a nice song but that’s it. Now I see it thru your eyes and WOW..totally iconic. We really did have some great music back in the day.
Some will never understand how gorgeous this song really is. An all time favorite, definitely!
Aretha is the Queen!! Her voice is so amazing!! 🔥🔥
I love your love of George Michael SO MUCH. And of course Aretha is fantastic. I always smile when this song comes on at work, it gets me moving. Loved your reaction to this!
Another duet that is good is Al Green n Annie Lennox "Give a little love in your in heart".
Yes! I was thinking the same thing!
The Voice,..ya'll,..THE VOICE,..and George,..didn't they sound so good together,. Girl we were as shocked as you when they premiered this video,..had no idea at the time they they were collaborating together,..Aretha,..she was still in it darlin,..I teared up like I think you did, but only because like you said,.they're both gone,..its hard to believe such God given talent had walked the earth,so long ago, seems a lifetime ago,..George,..ohh God,.the boy had pipes,..you know Aretha wouldn't have done a song with him if he didn't,.huh,..ohh and she also did a song with Annie Lenox,. "Sisters Are Doing It For Themselves", again Aretha didn't play around,..she worked with people who could share the stage,.stand up to muster as they say,..I was too thrilled when that song came out,..another woman impowerment song!,..that song should've existed when women were working in bomb factories during WW II, there's a picture of a woman with her sleeves rolled up, and flexing her biceps 💪 you know,..I don't remember if its in the actual video,..but I think of that with that song, women are a force,..I would blast that song on the radio,..and when it was on MTV,..yess there's a video for that too!,..ohh and in this video, did you see the video behind Aretha?,.did you see the couple?,.Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terell,..guess it was a like honorable nod,.tribute to them,..might have been around the time Marvin died, not sure,..do keep going,..some older established artists would collaborate with younger up and coming artists,..look at Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga,..I so love that they did that,..its such a joy,.young artist like Gaga,..getting a little mentoring from someone like Bennett,..who worked with the greats,.Benny Goodman, Duke Ellington, Burt Bacharach, it rubs off and can only enrich Gaga's work from here on,..God bless, so thankful she got to work with him,..do keep going young people,.do latch on to this old music,..many old artists are gone and leaving ,..thank you for taking an interest, Godspeed, Peace ✌
They blended so well.Such a great song and such a duo.R.I.P. Aretha and George ,Tammi and Marvin!
FUN FACT: the session musician playing bass on this track is none other than Randy Jackson. Yes.....*THAT* Randy Jackson, the longtime "American Idol" judge.
And the Jackson five!
@@anunalori no, not Michael's brother. LOL
Such an amazing song by two of the greatest voices of all time. Great reaction.
Thank you for this reaction you just brought me back to when I was a teenager and I remember when this song came out. It's the first time I had my crush on George Michael
There’s Aretha and then there’s everyone else. For me, George is one of the top tier of everyone else.
This always reminds me very strongly of my childhood ☺️ I have always loved them both since then ❤️
Two of the greatest ever!RIP
I cannot believe they are both gone!! That was a perfect duet. Love this song!!!😊🙏❤
Their voices and styles compliment each other so well.
I love this song, if a man and women can listen to this together they are truly soulmate. ❤
Two more duets I think you'll enjoy:
Patti LaBelle & Michael McDonald - On My Own
Diana Ross & Julio Iglesias - All Of Me
Their duet is pure gold!! Absolutely amazing! Never gets old for me.
I love this their voices work so well together
George Michael was something special.
Ah, you played it! Great. My favourite ever female singer , and one of my favourite male singers. Yay!
Please review George Michael’s and Mary J. Blige “Always”
Yay! So glad to see George Michael back in your channel! Your reactions are always the best. 😊 Please please PLEASE do "One More Try" for your next George Michael video! 🙏 It's one of his biggest best hits and I know you'll love it.
Haven't heard this one in years. Love it!! ❤
Two beautiful black ladies in my life ♥. Queen of soul Aretha, Queen of disco Donna ♥
I love to listen to this song around christmas time.
They are so beautiful together!!!
I think this was a Billboard #1 :)))
Awe these two legends, such a wonderful time for music. You need to check out Annie Lennox and Al Green it’s amazing
Both legends. She had many hits throughout the 80s, this a #1 pop song (she had #1s on R&B charts few years earlier). Now her 80s hit “Who’s Zoomin Who” could be great commercial tune for Zoom
J'adore ce duo l'un des plus beaux jamais entendu.. " I Knew You Were Waiting (For Me)" Reposez en paix George & Aretha !!
Great duo of 2 music icons.
Always reminded me of an updated version of “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough” by Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell. Amazing chemistry!!
Gigantic talents, both. So glad to see you doing more George. Please can we have some more, like Jesus to a Child or Praying for Time 🙏🏻
Girl, you have got to check out It’s Only Love by Tina Turner with Bryan Adams. Amazing duet, they rock that song! Their chemistry is electrifying.
Beautiful, just beautiful,
Absolute magic. Check his duets with Whitney Houston (If I told you that) and Mary J. Blige (As) both amazing. George hold his own!. Check his live version of A Different Corner on the Parkinson Show. It is magic and beautiful. Such an amazing singer.
Love Aretha! I had a huge crush on her when I was in school. Beautiful voice and, well, everything else.
When 2 legends meet and produce perfection 😍
GREAT SONG BY 2 ICONS!!!! RIP TO BOTH OF THEM. GREAT REACTION JAYY, THANKS!!!!!!
Im glad you finally got to hear and enjoy.
Two people with talent to spare and sadly missed.
I miss them both so much
LORT! Aretha looks great in this! RIP to both
Oh I love this song sooo much. One of the best pop songs of the 80‘s. Thanks for reacting to it. And I’m sure you‘ve enjoyed it too ❤️
Love this song!!! Way too emotional for me to react to these legends.................May they R.I.P.
Love both vocalist, an yes sad there gone! Love you channel!
I LOVE this one, I had forgotten all about it
Song was all over the radio when I was a teen .. fire when the valley was low it did not stop me .. mm hell yes.., Aretha rocked.. no shame in tears my love
Oh you know George Michael was so thrilled to be able to duet with the fabulous Ms. Aretha! Two of the best voices in history. : ) Jayy, another great duet is Tina Turner and Bryan Adams, "It's Only Love" - try to watch the live concert version when she brings him onto the stage to sing it with her. : )
A great song. Both sound so good!! I'm currently in lockdown working from home with my kitty named George Michael for company. So possibly I'm biased 😁
Is that you Ade?
What a cool name. I'm here in lockdown too.
@@eviekelpie1 Stay safe!
Fantastic performance. Another superb duo was when Diana Ross sang Upside Down with Jamiroquai, Jay Kay singing with her.
Such a great pairing. They are both missed dearly. This song has been a favorite of mine. I teared up a bit. Great reaction.
This was a masterpiece of two legends who went deep and the soul was laid bare.the harmony was a perfect blend at its finest.the song that stays inside your head..and you find yourself singing two of music's best hit the winner button with this one.always will be a favorite of mine.thank you Jayy..I love your reaction..you were into one of the greatest duo songs ever.
If there is a rock n roll heaven what a party going on...r.i.p you both left songs that will never be silenced
Well s*** now I'm going to cry... George Michael was one of the most beautiful men in music....next to Prince, Slash and Brendon Urie.
She has a awesome voice
One of my favourite songs 🙂
I still miss him!!
I have this on a CD and play it all the time cause it just makes you feel so happy, thank God we have this video of them and the recording, love them both wish they were still here
Love seeing the pure joy on your face. That’s what great music can do for all.
Immortalised in music.
As a Brit man i love Aretha and George ..incredible .🙂
George also did a duet with Whitney Houston around 2000 "If I told you That."
It took Aretha a long time to say yes to this duet . George was persistent and she said yes in the end . And what a song it was .
Imagine if Aretha and George had made an album of duets...may they be singing together in Heaven. Love your channel by the way.
Always nice to hear this, such a feel-good tune. Legends. ❤🌈
