I got a question, I fish where there are loads of freshwater muscles all over the rocks when they dig into it and u end up losing expensive spooks, I was fishing with 40 pound braid to 40 leader after I kept breaking off and it cuts way above the leader. I’m wondering if I should up it to 65 braid or jsut tie a much much longer leaderl line.
Have you seen those salt strong videos where they test the mono against fluoro? They did an abrasion test. The mono snapped like everything compared to fluoro.
I was striper fishing using 14 pound fluoro. Line was breaking every time. Lost 3 lures before I decided that was enough. I thought it was my knot but now I know I was using way too light of line.
did you ever compare the way a surface plug swims when using florocarbon vs mono? because floro sinks i always felt spooks & metal lips were better presented on mono.
I have found that there is little difference between the two. I will downsize the test of the line if it is overpowered by the line which doesn’t happen often.

Do you still have slot and + size fish up there?
We still have some low slot fish around. But there is a big NE’er coming which could end the season.
