Pendennis Castle on the East Lancs - Saturday 27th April 2024

Great Western Railway 4-6-0 4079 Pendennis Castle is captured departing Heywood station and climbing towards Townsend Fold Signal Box on the East Lancashire Railway on Saturday 27th April 2024. The Didcot Railway Centre based steam locomotive was on its final weekend on the ELR before visiting the Churnet Valley Railway.
The locomotive carried a wreath on its smokebox in memory of East Lancs Steam Driver Craig Potter.
