Those new houses just outside Haworth look more desirable than most. Not only are they made of local stone so they're not too intrusive, but what a great view out the back! 🤠

The one alleged quote was from some GWR directors demanding why another railway company could build three 4-6-0's for the cost of two GWR's 4-6-0 'Stars', the great G. J. Churchward's terse response was "Because one of mine could pull two of their bloody things backwards!"
I agree. No Great Western shed master would have allowed a Castle to have such a bad steam leak as Pendennis Castle has. It’s been like that for about 18 months.
