For context, IG's highest damage (Graves) did less than half of that damage with the following exchange: 6AAs, 4Qs, 2 Ws, and 1 R. IG is up 5K Gold as a team.
Phreak said in 14.6 Preview that Smolder is only perceived as broken and is actually balanced. Smolder, as a fair Champion, definitely would carry this game, whereas Ruler on Kai'Sa loses with more Gold and the same disadvantage. *Smolder is NOT Broken.*

At the fourth drake fight LNG got a perfect engage, they killed the enemy ADC with only half of their supports HP traded in return. That fight wasn't won by Smolder but by Vi and Ahri. The baron fight at the end of the game though is the perfect illustration why people criticize the champ.
