- The new Netflix reality series, ‘The Ultimatum’ has exploded in popularity since its premiere on April 6th 2022. Taking six different couples who want to marry, the couples each have one partner who questions if that is what they want. Through their trials and tribulations, they choose to put everything on the line to finally get the answers both need to know moving forward. One giving another an ultimatum to finally allow their partner the chance to figure out what they really want.
Given the choice to move on with each other or move on from another. To answer all their individual uncertainties, each couple must date the remaining couples for five days and make a decision who they will live with.
The ultimate test of loyalty in this intense social experiment, they will decide if their original lover will be a thing of the past or their future. Testing their jealousy, patience and trust knowing they gave one an opportunity to find a new life partner. Exposing the relationship dynamics when hormones cloud judgment.
How long can initial attraction last until they miss their other half? Either building a real bond, falling in love with a new romantic interest or wanting their old flame back to begin their new chapter together. YES I loved her. Broke my heart watching her go through what she did.
My heart was breaking for April. She was giving it her all and Jake was totally checked out. She wanted him so bad that you could feel her disappointment every episode. But I hope she has a good love and gets to be a mom.

That is exactly my first thought, but I don't think he wanted to marry his girlfriend; the girlfriend was clear but definitely not healthy as a person! Both girls are mirrors of one another; the only difference is one is loud and aggressive and dysfunctional, and one is quietly repressed and dysfunctional.
I truly believe he and Rae are soul mates, but Rae is so majorly dysfunctional she will ruin anything she tries to get involved with no matter what. Rae has some unresolved trauma or deep issues.
I also think that he needed a break from both women.
I still cannot believe Madlyn actually marrying Colby. I was 100% sure, she realized how toxic they are together and would say no.
Me too, not a good match for her at all, she gave up finding true love for Colby, who does not deserve it. She's so sweet, real, confident but does not believe in her abilities of find true love as she keeps questioning herself. She deserves better, someone who understand her.

Colby has been through a lot & that guy always seems to be able to handle his feelings. Other person would flip the table ! And smack her face on how rude she's treating him
Ikr🙄I thought Alexis gave her some great advice to leave while she can. I’m just kinda shocked she really didn’t seem like she was deeply in love with him. Every time she kept saying how Colby doesn’t do this or how Colby doesn’t do that. She was always complaining😒 I wouldn’t be surprised if they end up divorcing each other. I wonder if madlyn wasn’t pregnant if they would still be together. I’m happy for hunter and Alexis though💕especially after what Colby said to her like he is blind.

@@thecitizens4573 Some people feel like Colby on tv may just be a « facade » for the camera : some assume that he as a narcissistic personality disorder, especially because of the things Madlyn admitted/said about how he reacts in their relationship and how he always put the blame on her and make her feel at fault when he cheats for example). Madlyn has her issues for sure (which she talked about with her mother), She appears to have had so emotional deprivation in her past which leads her to act like she did (male attention seeking, wanting to be desired etc). And the thing is, this type of Personality is the one that is most likely to fall in love with a narcissist (narcisist also have a preference for this type of validation-seeking personalities). And since Coby appears charming and show some traits of narcisists (to some extent), we can often read this theory online. I want to clarify that i am not putting a diagnostic on either one of them, i am just putting in perspective what others may be assuming. Of course we cannot have full clarity in a situation about strangers seen on tv. (But… as a psycholgy student - 4th year - I may have also had this suspicion at one point... But i don’t know really, that is just television)
I had empathy for April and felt sad for her. She clearly wanted security and love from Jake but he was distant and blamed everything on her. I do think she probably has attachment issues and deep sadness about her fertility struggles. I really do hope she gets what she needs and wants in her new relationship
Jake paid for it ..he choose a lesbian .I do not know why Netflix bring people gay to the show if the show is for heterosexual
April was very aggressive, and most men are not attracted to women chasing them and forcing the relationship forward. I believe that if April had been more laid back, trusting the process, he would have married her. She is definitely not his soul mate. I believe Rae is his soulmate, but Rae has deep issues she needs to resolve that may take years of therapy. Shes more prone to escapism than doing the work to get healthy

April did not have a fair shot with Colby compared to jake. When they both went back together and he checked out emotionally. I am happy for April.

Rae is the most selfish human being I ever seen. So happy for Aril who fully got over Jake and found someone so much better than him.
Rae clearly didn't want to go back to Zay when her trial marriage with Jake ended. Jake and April fought so much when they got back together for the last 3 weeks particularly about Jake and Raes bond. Zay was trying and begging for Rae, but she wasn't even trying to reconnect with him. Zay definitely had flaws and he does snap easily, but he's gotten better about not being so quick to react harshly. Rae and Zay aren't bad people, they just wasn't good for each other. Zay needed emotional support, something Rae couldn't give him. They both need to seek therapy. I'm glad April found someone else and is happy. I just hope everyone is doing well now like April is.
If you see the last episode she is lesbian she can not date a men ..she will make every men u happy

Colby and April dated out of the show because they didn’t get to pick their partner they originally wanted. They did the same experiment just outside of the group.

From the brief snapshot provided by the show, she looked a little insane
I think it was just a build up of repressed rage and other feelings she hadn’t shared in the past and once she started she couldn’t stop. Like, it seemed like she didn’t have the capability to have a conversation with Zay in that moment coz she became a volcano and everything she had ever thought and felt in their relationship came out all at once. It’s definitely not healthy, and she clearly has some trauma from the relationship (and/or past relationships) so I hope she is able to find some healing

@@mariaang4617 I can’t speak on what it is like to be gay or bisexual so I don’t want to talk out of place but I have heard that there’s a lot of trauma queer people experience within themselves before they become comfortable with who they are so whilst I’m not sure that’s what’s happening for Rae, there’s a good chance that yeah you could be right. It’s just such a shame that society puts the thought they should be ashamed of themselves in their mind in the first place

I have to be honest, I loved and still love this show, what I love about it is how unpredictable it is, and that it is so much about finding true love, and that everyone comes from a former relationship. It was very interesting to see how everyones feelings evolved and just peoples different connections

Zay is lucky! He has so much passion and love to give. He just has a glitch or challenge around processing and then verbalizing his feelings. Then, he gets frustrated and blows up because he needs tools to put his thoughts to words. He may need processing tools he would receive from a specialist.
He seems like he didn't get the specialized help he needed as a child.
Zay deserves a woman who will love him and is anchored on earth and solid.

I gave it a shot but I didn’t like it. My opinion is that all the couples were toxics. Alexis is superficial and she hated Colby because he didn’t gave her the attention she wanted. Zay was the toxiests of all I still don’t know why Rae was him. Jake I think he was the nicest but the fact that he chooses a girl he met two months over his gf of 2 plus years is very telling.
Rae was with Zay because he was toxic and she likes excitment, which is why she was attracted to Jake. Also why she went back to zay, and might even be why she’s experimenting with women now. The girl who said she wanted to be married at the start of the show, lol is now figuring out her sexuality. All over the place.
Zaye is nasty and just mean. When stuff goes south he acts like a five year old.

@@Radmxrayhe’s tall and handsome, so it makes it all okay. Zay has the emotionally maturity of a 10 year old, he pushes his point by raising his voice, cursing and storming out. Both Rae and him are toxic, just in different ways tbh.

First off Colby is a cheat and a liar. He gave Madelyn an Ultimatum because she didn’t want to get married yet but I just find it so hard to believe everything is HER fault. Cheating is fault on the person doing it not the person it’s being done to? He acted so holier than thou and “I’m the only man here who gave the ultimatum” okay… and it proves to be for his selfishness. He said he gave the ultimatum for Madelyn but how is him cheating with someone who wasn’t even apart of the show for her? No. He can’t even admit fault. Not husband material in the slightest.

I promise you Colby is still cheating, and has no accountability, you don’t change like that over night. He wanted to marry her so badly so he could lock her down, because deep down he knows she’s the type to stick around and take his manipulation, I mean she’s basically brain washed. He proposed and married the same day, is that not a red flag? And then he knocked her up asap so that there’s no way she will leave him, I promise he’s gonna put her through hell, and she is gonna stay through it all. It’s actually super dark.
