    Goodbye Planet Earth....
    An atmospheric journey to the ends of the universe. The breath-taking cover of "Skylight" makes it clear from the beginning where the journey comprising 10 tracks will lead to. AtomA places the infinite reaches of the universe at the feet of their fans, presenting an atmospheric apocalyptic epos. As Planet Earth has become inhospitable, a group of astronauts take on the unexplored cosmos in search of a new home for mankind. In order to relate their tale, the Swedish trio create a synthesized sound sphere deeply anchored on a driving rock foundation. The songs evoke ethereal and electronic details that provide the complexity necessary to transform this release into a spectacular journey of discovery across the solar system. The masterful songwriting and the attention to detail are especially apparent on songs like "Resonance", the title track "Skylight", and "Rainmen". AtomA's "Skylight" is a post rock/metal album that will make an adventurous astronaut out of anyone who listens, and allow them to take on the future fate of man. Goodbye, Planet Earth...

    I remember when this album came out and I found this song accidentally. It didn’t have even 1k of views and I was a teenager. And now, as an adult and after so many years and things that happened in my life, bad and good ones, I still get the same or even more feeling of thankfulness for living in a time lapse in which I can listen to this wonderful song... Thank you...

    I finally made my own weekly top 20 again, this song even was a number 1 hit for one week and another 4 weeks on #2. Who cares about real single charts when you can make your own. I have around 900 albums on my pc so I have more than enough to choose which songs will make it into my top 20.
    Normally I'm much more of an album listener but I always find making my own top 20 single charts very fascinating (and then at the end of the year I'm calculating how many points every song got and which rank they are.

      @@aviv6499 the song "Traced In Constellations" by Sleepmakeswaves, their second number 1 hit, this song kicked their first #1 from the number one spot, "Perfect Detonator".
      Actually the whole "Love Of Cartography" is still unbeatable after 7 weeks (still discovering many amazing albums but nothing comes close, can't remember one of my other all time faves being that dominant over that long time span), discovered the album on july the 20th, and it's already one of my all time favourites because of the atmosphere, and 6 of the 8 main songs are perfect to me (the other two very close). Takes me to a far away planet, where the album is legendary, and the inhabitants are very progressive and positive and every day of the year has only 6 hours of daylight, it's always cold and the night sky is a mix of black, purple and deep blue.
      The emotional impact the LoC album still has after 7 weeks is immense.

      Just listened to Traced in Constellations - it's good, but misses that layer of vocals that Rainmen has. Good track though, will definitely give the album a listen. Got a Blut Aus Nord vibe to it.

    • @TheArrow1987
      @TheArrow1987 4 года назад

      @@aviv6499 no in my opinion it doesn't miss vocals, I love it the way it is, instrumental, which is kind of normal for a post-rock album, and I love the often autumnal atmosphere in many post-rock albums. In this case vocals would maybe interrupt the amazing atmosphere that unfolds in every song.
      I don't know Blut Aus Nord yet.
      Please make sure you listen to the album more than just once. I have the experience that many albums only unfold after multiple listens because it's hard to hear every little detail on the first go.

    When I listen to Automa's album, I completely step out of this world and into a new world. In a glorious fantasy, in a space as if we are not alone and the universe is watching us. A deep fear takes over that maybe in this We are the only ones. Or maybe there were beings before us who now entered the wonderful world full of peace. I have a strange feeling about this music, as if it has always been with me and will be with me when I die. Please make music again, but just as good.
