Never knew. Man I passed by your shop today everytime I passed I saw you trucks. Never knew it was yours until I saw one of your videos. Always wanted to swing by to say what's up
I love the entire truck! I also like that you show the setbacks as well as the successes Your content has definitely inspired me to get both my 79 and my 72 back on the road and should have them done soon .
Brother, we're on the same page. I love Ford trucks, and I'd love a truck like that, especially how you have it set up. Those wheels are perfect. If it were my truck, I'd paint it tan and put a newer shell on it. Still, it's awesome!
All around looks badass Solomon. I think those wheels and tires really set it off though for sure. The old skool caps on the Detroit wheels look killer.
I have a 1970 F250 Sport Custom Camper Special 390 4x2, finishing a re-wire then selling it. GV overdrive, C6, SoftTopper. My daily driver is a 2021 F350 crew SB 7.3 auto 4x Lariat, use for SAR, law STL roof lightbar & LED grill bar.
This is an awesome pickup and you are doing things correctly (for the most part lol) and the quality put in, will return in spades. However, I have to agree, a true Ford power plant would have been better in my opinion. An original Ford chassis and axles, although updated, would have been nice too. The Dodge axles seem to have the wheel flanges sitting wider than the original Fords as the wheels (even with the 4.5" backset) seem to stick out further on the Ford. I'm old school and prefer the look of the original era with the 12.5 x 16" tires, originally 16.5". Love the look of the wheels and I'm currently using US Steel only in 16". I like that you are trying to keep American made items. Cooper tires would have still been made here though...LOL
Thanks brother, If there was a comparible ford powerplant i would have but there isnt one. The 7.3 powerstroke is an absolute pig and the newer stuff is too new. The wheels are wider then i thought they would be but overall im happy with the look.
I've rebuilt my '74 Ford camper special two-wheel drive it's got a 390 in it still got a few hitches with it but my neighbor has about nine high boys including the crew cab highboy that I have first dibs on I also have if anybody's interested to 429s with the trannies a 1970 and a 1969. The first truck I rebuilt as an adult is my 46 Studebaker pickup and she's pretty damn bad ass but it did take my son and I 18 years to do time money in between layoffs and all of that.
Yeah what a truck !! Very envious of you. That thing is KILLER..!!! Enjoy it
