- In her introduction to the new Woody Guthrie Center in Tulsa, Nora Guthrie, the singer-songwriter's daughter and president of the Woody Guthrie Foundation, talked about the illness that ravaged her father's life and her mother's effort to find a cure.
Huntington’s is such a devastating disease there’s no cure. Hopefully one day they will find a way to prolong or even find a cure. Thanks Nora
I wish more people would be interested in Woody, his life, his disease, his family, his music. They are all fascinating topics.
Very much so! Woody Guthrie was just I don’t know. I guess I don’t have words there’s really no words for him.
Except to say, we could use him today ! We sure as hell could use him today😢
Can you imagine what he would think of our country today? 😢😢😢😮
Lost my younger brother at 33 to this horrendous illness...empathy for anyone enduring this cruel affliction & their families...
We adopted a baby who is at risk for HD so I have heard so much about your mother. She is a blessing to all of who we're transpersonal the void of HD information. I was thrilled when the test became reality! Our child wasn't eligible for it because a person had to be 21 or older and of sound mind and/or symptomatic. Your Mom really lit the fire under the scientific community. 🥰
God bless Marjorie Guthrie! A true HD warrior!!! 💕
It seems like we lost part of this great talk! I am looking for it in the channel, but I don’t know, maybe it all went ka-plunk
Hey, do you remember when I was in your foundation , singing in spanish some Woody' s songs ? I am from Ecuador . I have the Woody's biografy. " Woody Guthrie : A life"
Well, we now know where Arlo got that hair!
From his sister?
Nora is Arlo's sister, and all of them had curly hair, probably from their father, Woody!
The mother of arlo cunthrie has the same hair.
inspirational
I'm thinking I can see where Arlo got His hair. Yup! G-G
Thank you
I was just getting into this interview when it ended too soon
