- Aged just 17 when he made his Manx Grand Prix debut in 2006, Michael Dunlop immediately followed in the footsteps of his illustrious father Robert when he won the Newcomers race.
Of course he continues to support the Manx Grand Prix to this day and it is always a pleasure to see one of the greatest TT riders of all time on the Mountain Course, aboard the Honda Fireblade at the Made at the Manx parade.
The Spare marshals bike…..never sat on it, wasn’t set up….and did a 128 lap…as if it was nothing to him ….what a man.👍🇮🇲👌

Watched that live as a Course Marshall in Sector 3. We thought the last rider had gone through an in the distance we heard the howling of the CBR exhaust... a couple of seconds later, Zooom! It took a moment for the old brain to process what the eyes barely registered. Yup, it was MD in a spare Marshall's bike... complete mirrors 😮
Legend. Period. Most definitely needs his own corner named after himself👌🏻💪🏼🔥and then some🤣
No single machine can be more emblematic of MD's singular talent than that one: a bone-stock streeter ridden beyond every limit that could have been reasonably estimated. That bike needs to go into a museum.

I believe that Michaels 128mph lap on the marshal's Fireblade was the fastest lap of the entire Manx GP week. Next fastest was Michael Dunlop at 127 mph on his classic superbike Suzuki. MD is a legend.

Met him at the NW this year..stressed too the max flat our trying get everything ready and set for races and still took time to get pictures and shake hands with people!
Top lad look forward to him equalling and surpassing Joey in 24, happy its a Dunlop!

Man’s an animal. Been on just about every manufacturer and won, doesn’t race year around like the others and is still scary fast.
The tyres are only good for warming up quickly then tail off after 5-6 miles. Not my words, but of the marshals who MD borrowed the bike from!!!

What makes the lap all the more impressive is the bike had metzler m9rr's fitted... not even racetek's!
The media really shouldn’t be allowed to distract the riders on the start lineup.

It was a parade lap, of previous winners and bikes….MD was a late announcement, and took the spare Travelling Marshals CBR 1000 Honda for a lap….complete with road going tyres, Mirrors and no adjustments…..and promptly did a 128mph lap….not sure the organisers were expecting it, but MD was I think, just proving a point….👍😉🇮🇲

He is good but John Mac Guinness is the machine they can’t ride like him his style is undefeated.
