Will a ct scan show cancer? I am 70 and have been having severe stomach pain at times and cramping and loose stools and they found nothing. I am not sure that I can go through the prep for a colonoscopy but desperate to feel better.I think the radiation for breast cancer affected my whole body. I also wonder if it is bacterial because I have had c diff before and some of the symptoms are the same. I live in a area where the health care is over populated and not enough Drs do I feel overlooked because they do not have the time. Sorry this is so long. What is the name of the fecal test for home?

If you can, do the colonoscopy. My tumour was missed as CT scan not sufficient and i have no cancer markers

Get a colonoscopy. The hardest part is drinking the liquid. Different states now have a pill you take. Don’t wait!

What kind of doctor are you? PhD? md? Internet fake doctor? You never tell people anything other than random Google facts....

I didn't have a single symptom other than anemia, but I'd have never ever thought it was because of colon cancer. The way they found out was I ate an enormous amount of potato chips and got pains all across my stomach plus traces of blood in my stool. The Internist I went to back then sent me to UV where they found out lesions in my liver, and the doctor sent me to do MRI which confirmed the lesions were all metastasis. Besides, they managed to see a thickening of my sigmoid colon. The colonoscopy confirmed the diagnosis by taking a picture of the primary tumor up my sigmoid. Finally, the oncosurgeon I found on the Internet authorised a PET=CT scan and my mets were confirmed one more time, however, they failed to see the primary tumor. So doing a CT scan alone may be insufficient in detecting colon cancer, however, a colonoscopy will do the trick 100%.

Yes CT scan is insufficient....my tumour was missed and also i have no cancer markers. PET scan and colonoscopy is the way to go.
