The ii - V - I is one of the most important and highly used chord progressions used in Jazz. This progression is in the key of D Major so the chords are ii (Emin7), V (A7), and I (DMaj7).

Domiuke, no problem. You can hear these kind of ii-V-I progressions on songs like All of Me, Autumn Leaves, Take The "A" Train, The Days of Wine and Roses, and tons more. Hope this helps.

Very beautiful chords! I noticed 2 familiar shapes Dm7 shape moved up 2 frets and G7 shape moved up 2 frets /A? 🙃🎼

Yes move the G7 up 2 frets and you have the A7. You can continue to move this or any bar chord up the neck in the same fashion.

I find that jumping from 4,4,3,5 to 0,4,5,4 is alot easier than jumping from 4,4,3,5 to 2,4,3,4 and it gives the same clang and would like your opinion on doing that instead ^^ (so 4,4,3,5 to 0,4,5,4 to 2,2,2,4 to 2,2,2,2)

The second chord, which is the one you are referring to is the A7 chord. If you play it the way you are suggesting, 0,4,5,4, it doesn't give an A7 sound to my ear. To me it gives more of a C# diminished sound, which is essentially what the chord becomes when you play it 0,4,5,4. Your suggestion takes the root, the A note, out of the A7 chord. This would be fine if you had a bass player or piano player playing with you that was covering that A bass note thus keeping it sounding like an A7. Hope that helps and isn't to technical.

I hate the D6 here...A proper B major sounds better and more jazzy to my ear.
