This is an Exceptionally Rare Master Reel To Reel Tape! This Reel Tape, from TWA (Trans World Airlines), is Series 14, Easy Listening.
It is not known how many series of Reel Tapes there are, it is not known when this was recorded, or what planes they were played on. It is assumed this Reel Tape was played on TWA L-1011 Flights in the 1970's. The audio is in Monaural Stereo, not True Stereo. It is not known why this is, but probably not considered very much. There is very limited information provided, as to what songs and composers there are.
Enjoy listening!

Thank you so much for this video and selections. I have been listening to easy listening since I was 14. I am 72 now and it is always playing in my home. It relaxes you.
Thank you for your kind words! I wish I could introduce you to my internet radio station, WJST Jet Set Radio. Playing beautiful easy listening music from Reel To Reel Tapes. But unfortunately, due to lack of funds, I had to shut it down last night. But most of my Easy Listening Tapes have been saved on my Archive site. On most of my RUclips Videos, down in the description, I give a link to my Archive site where you can listen and even download the music! I hope you will find the link ok in the video description and enjoy! Feel free to listen to all of the beautiful easy listening tapes I uploaded!
I also am 72yo, and likewise find solace in this abiding genre. Cheers!
@ChrisCromwellHP Thanks Chris. Will do.
This version of "never my love" is just awesome.
SWEEEEEET ❤
Hell yes ❤❤❤
The video graphics are very cool in the context.

That intro to “Strangers in the Night” is pretty badass. The strings glide up and crescendo then the bass plays a 5th interval from B to E. Pretty kick ass really.
Yes, it is nice. I think it is Xavier Cugat & Orchestra
This was not an unusual intro for that time and style. It's arresting.
Please reply if you can ID missing tracks. Please vote this comment up.

this is perfect. I have an airport love theme, but it's different to this one.. oh wow strangers in the night. What a beautiful album.. If I was on a plane first class of course I would like this to be playing
Thank you for your very kind words Diana! You seem to be the perfect passenger I would expect to see in the Jet Set Plane of WJST Jet Set Radio! I hope you will visit my website today and give it a listen! There are free listening widgets on the website you can use! www.wjstjetset.com
I hope to see you in the virtual Jet Set Lounge in your mind!
It’s beautiful easy listening music from Reel To Reel Tapes, centered around the American Airlines Popular Music Reel Tapes; from the Jet Set Era. I’m Chris Richards, Program Director and Station Founder.
Very nice! Thx for posting. My GrandFather worked for TransWorld for 25years. 👈♥️👉
Sweet deal! 😀👍 Thank you for watching and enjoying the video! I never thought I would come across an old TWA Music tape from the late 70's. I was surprised it was in mono! 🙂
My brother Julio Gomez worked for TWA 32 years in San Francisco, until 2004,fuelling dpt.✌☮🇸🇻🇺🇸
Top et délicieux, exquise écoute, orchestration talentueuse et légère.bravissimo ,
Coup de genie❤
BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!
THANK YOU!!!💜
Looking forward to checking WJST too!
Was this music listened to from earphones plugged into the armrest by any chance?
I'm very sure it was! Way back in the Summer of 1978, I took a TWA jet from California to Boston. I still remember hearing this very same music and other channels on the headsets back then. It was a large audio connector that would plug into the armrest, with volume knob and channel selector switches. Back then, I thought it was the coolest thing, but I had no idea it was from Reel Tapes. I thought everything came over radio signals back then.
Beautiful. Please could you tell me what the background instrumental is while you were introducing the video and the orchestra? Thanks
Airport Love Theme Alfred Newman. Shazam App is able to identify most songs.
Question about the visual part of this video. Where is it? What journey are we witnessing going by? Is it a vid of a real situation, or a computer simulated image?
It’s a real video taken from inside an aircraft, the camera is just pointed out the window. With the music, you can use your imagination with the video, to be a journey to anywhere in the world. There’s no set destination, it’s to give you an experience of traveling during the Jet Set Era; back when airlines had music playing with headphones. It’s not a computer simulator or game.
This same audio experience can be heard on my internet radio station, WJST Jet Set Radio.

Love the AA reel to reel tapes...do you have any of the old readers digest box sets...most were really good easy listening music...Thanks
Thank you for the kind words, Martie! I appreciate you! 😀😀❤❤ I've been debating back and forth recently, if I should continue uploading more AA Reel Tapes or not. The views are usually so poor with those, and I have to be careful with the Copyright Claims and Copyright Strikes I might get. 🙁 Unfortunately no, I don't have any of the old Readers Digest box sets of music. I do have plenty of the older Reel To Reel Tapes of Beautiful Easy Listening music, like Jackie Gleason and many others; including Bonneville Music. I play them on my internet station, WJST Jet Set, that feature the AA Reel Tape music 24/7. Online Radio Box App, search: WJST Jet Set. Are there other video's from me you would like to see? 🙂🙂
@@ChrisCromwellHP I would like you to continue the AA reel to reel, but I also enjoy any easy listening tapes you could share...I just like good music!!!
@@martielaner8675, Ok, sounds good! Thank you for your support! Could you please share my RUclips channel with others who may not know this music still exists out there? I would greatly appreciate your help.
46:56 "Live for Life" is, "Vivre pour vivre", by Francis Laï, 1967, from the same titled film.
Here are 3 other musical themes from that film :

👍👍👍
Anyone know the song that goes from 0:00 to 1:20?
Airport Love Theme from Alfred Newman. I play this song as well as Jackie Gleason on WJST Jet Set Radio. wjstjetset.com
Chris Cromwell you are a good man, thank you
@@ChrisCromwellHP Jackie Gleason is the best of them all in my opinion. I can't pinpoint why. Must be arranging. He knows which chord to utilize at each musical step (beat).
@@juancarlosmontes, it’s definitely the core of beautiful easy listening, when it first started in 1956-57. 🙂
ruclips.net/video/FRpRZUC-13I/видео.html Hello again Chris. Do you happen to know whose orchestra is playing 'If he walked into my life' on this WPAT radio video (hope you can see the link)? Starts at 6:08. Thanks.
Unfortunately I don’t know the name of the orchestra playing, without using Shazam.
But my best guess would be Tony Mattola, he made many albums with an orchestra. It sounds like his playing style, but I don’t know for sure. I can’t find the exact version on RUclips or Google.
No worries Chris, thanks for listening to it. Yes it could be Tony Mottola or even Al Caiola. I'll do some further research and let you know if I find it. There is another one you may be able to help me with if I send the link. I'm thinking maybe Jackie Gleason but see what you think when you hear it. The quality is poor, as it was from an old reel tape; you will likely need to turn up the volume. I'll send link later.
@@ChrisCromwellHP ruclips.net/video/7Cfq5agZkEQ/видео.html Here is the link Chris. It is the first track on the video. See what you make of it. Thanks
@@SuperTabitha22 the song is called: “Teach Me Tonight”. But no clue who the artist could be. It doesn’t sound like Ronnie Aldrich. Maybe Roger Williams is possible, but otherwise I would have no clue.
I do hear a Ronnie Aldridch tune later in the video “The Very Thought Of You”.
Anyway, nice to hear a recording from 1976.
The commercials make you want to take the station wagon straight to the new mall for some shopping. 🙂
@@ChrisCromwellHP Many thanks Chris; yes it is indeed. I'll do some more research and let you know if I find the orchestra. Yes, the commercials were great back then. We desperately need more easy listening stations like this back again.
It's killing me.
Was TWA for trans people?
In 1978-1979?? 🤔🤔 Yeeeeeeaaaaaaaahh!! 🙄🙄 Sure! 😃👍if you really want to try and rewrite history that way; I guess. 🤔🤷♂️🤷♂️
More like a carrier for service and comfort, we’ll until the 1990s
@@ILoveQazaqstan yes, this would be the more accurate correct meaning. It was never intended for anything else.
Fortunately we did not have to suffer that drama back then.
This music is for all genders not one. Sadly the evil radio corporations killed it off on the FM Dial.
