For those of us who need the visual:
3 Ways Psychological Functioning Can Increase via PTG
    1. Relationships: can be valued more deeply and with more empathy
    2. Self-esteem: deeper inner wisdom, strength, gratitude and acceptance
    3. Meaning: life perspective and purpose
    3 Ways to implement PTG
    1. Embrace your natural response- feel your feelings
    2. Share with others - instructive self-disclosure
    3. Find your strengths - what have you learned
Thank you for this video Vanessa Van Edwards!

All of this is absolutely true for me. I served as a Combat Medic in the U.S. Army. I lost my legs during combat operations in Afghanistan back in 2013. A horrible and traumatic experience. However, I now use my story to train others in saving lives in “combat” situations. I’ve also learned to tell my friends and loved ones “I love you” every time I see them. Because you never know when it’ll be the last time you say it.

I love hearing how people use their experience for good. I still struggle with how my life changed- i can't give myself a rational answer, because it's not rational. I still hope to turn my mess into a message for good...like you!

It's certainly important to validate peoples negative experiences, but I think it's moved past that into promoting victimhood. This is a breath of fresh air.

Love the idea of PTG. Initial tramas started in childhood. Entering senior years & now new tools and strategies to steer my life. Cause I got this wish. It sounds something like this 'accepting love is a most desired state of being".

I just discovered PTG and its amazing to me, its taken an ugly word PTSD that means awful things. PTG brings beauty to it. Im 13 months sober and i feel PTG brands my recovery. Thank you.

Wow! I always get so much insight and value from your videos. I mean - not only the deeply profound message like Victor Frankl's book Man's Search for Meaning, but also the video presentation itself. I'm a "recovering boring person" and I'm learning how to be more engaging and dynamic with my speaking and moving. Thank you!

I'm greatful with how things turned out I kinda whish its been worse because I would appreciate life better and help more people who suffer from worse things but have to accept what my situation is because I belive life is fully purposeful you can switch any negative to a positive aslong as you are alive like I wouldn't of not existed to help others and experience life if my parents didn't have a reason to meet and grand parents and ancestors and the wars/traumas that were means for to be born I'm happy I'm alive to experience life in whatever form it is because will find a way to turn a positive into a negative
