Hey doom, i would love it if you posted the links to the challenges in the description so we can watch along/easily find lists!
Great Idea! Added. Thanks for the suggestion!
Great video and i love the visual representations of the meta breakdown, as it really helps people prepare for the bigger pioneer tournaments to come. I can't wait for you to play Orzhov token control of your own volition also. Lol
Mono white humans may lack in explosive power compared to the far more aggressive rakdos and red aggro decks, but the deck still does offer quite a bit of versatility when it comes to its stax pieces, pseudo-lords, protection, token makers and flexible removal. I hope that it gets at least one or two powerful creature staples from foundations to bring in, though that will have to be after the RC.
Thanks d00mwake for the Pionner content. Blessings
I'm still on the thought that you shared last week that it's odd to see Rakdos Prowess so high. Every time I've played against them it just seemed so... fragile, and really all about how many Monstrous Rages they draw. I do play on Arena so maybe the better MTGO players know when to go all in or when to hold
Just want to keep telling you to keep up the content. I love this!
I'd like to shoutout 4x Catnap in the Greenshell decklist. Also Dimir Rogues made an appearance. Wouldn't be suprised to see more of that since it has an amazing Phoenix matchup, although it struggles against Phoenix. Prowess is I think a good matchup for it but not sure
waiting for the face damage to not be meta so i can maximize my yorion fogwheel 😅
Fecund Greenshell in the thumbnail 👀
Control > All decks :D
Loved the summary at the end with the compiled chart to tie room together! Seeing how the format evolves moving into and out of the upcoming RC will help a lot in deck building for the upcoming season. Thanks Doom!!
Glad it was helpful!
hasn't commented on the commander bans TERRIBLE PIONEER VIDEO 0 out of 10
True 😭
Love it. Maybe putting all of one season’s meta videos into a playlist for organization?
That's a good idea!
If the reason people would play vaultborn as creativity target is only because it is nonlegendary, wouldn't it than at the very least be correct to play a split of one legendary creature and some vaultborns? Or maybe even different gamewinning legendary creatures?
Just a random thought, but it seems like when there are multiple very powerful bombs that are somewhat close to equally strong and have the downside of not working well in multiples, it could be interesting to explore the possibility of creativity with multiple different hits in the deck that are usually all gamewinning anyways
Maybe something like 1 Atraxa 1 Valgavoth 1-2 Vaultborn tyrants
Yeah potentially I was thinking of doing something like 2 Tyrant, 1 Atraxa, 1 Valgavoth. The thing is if you've decided you need Valgavoth in more games due to the passive then you're risking it when you X=1
@@d00mwakethat is true, it is stillvery possible that valgavoth is just significantly better and it is worth playing only valgavoths.
But if they end up being very close in powerlevel the upside of getting multiple creatures in play might outweigh the powerlevel difference. It would also require that the uncertainty about what creativity isn't to harmful to being able to play strategically. But since that uncertainty is for both players it might actually be fine
(And in most cases any one of these creatures is gamewinning anyways)
Whenever I see this new watching the meta series in my RUclips feed it’s a guaranteed auto click
This analysis content is really great.
Specifically Pioneer.
Hey great thing to do the shout out of the unusual decks, there very little incentive to try new stuff and even this is not much it's something to people try new brews
I'm surprised to see so little Abzan Greasefang.
Fang is rough into Phoenix, and I also think if people are overpreparing for Phoenix then Fang also gets some splash hate.
I play a Selfless Savior (main) and a Silence in the sideboard. Two cards that help me against these matches. ;-)
Loving this analysis videos, can we get standard next?
I may start doing a brief overview of all the challs of a given format in one chart, but do that for std, pio, and mod
In one video*
UW doing well? Very nice
What is the boros control list? There’s so many variants I’m confused
Nvm it’s the good one
They should have banned fable, not sorin. All they did was replace the rakdos deck that was dominating the meta with… rakdos decks that are dominating the meta. Between prowess, jund ( its rakdos + ygra), and rakdos midrange, you have 54 decks out of 160 that are fable based rakdos shells. The ban did nothing to change that.
The Prowess lists aren't playing Fable, so idk about that take
They should have banned Blood Crypt
@@DrewHowells Wow, I just assumed they were since it triggers prowess. I guess the deck wants to go fast, but surprising that it doesnt even show up in sideboards.
@@williammccarthy5707 yeah, they're like almost entirely 1 mana pump spells and the prowess dorks. Very all-in
The Prowess decks aren't playing Fable, but this new Boros deck that's going around is.
I agree that Fable should have gone. That card's won every high profile Pioneer event since it's release. Fact check me on that; maybe I'm wrong, but if it's not every, it's damn near every.
