  • My three sons and their friends were up at Sicamous Falls outside of Sicamous at 2 Mile. My one son texted me and said to get there right away the falls are going crazy. I went to grab my umbrella before heading out and before we could get out of the lane way, he was coming down the street beeping his horn at us. He then proceeded to tell us that The local Houseboat company was currently being flooded with the waters coming up and over the creek. We headed out right away and just before we could get to the end of our street...it was already blocked off by RCMP. My son was first in line at the stop sign and he waited it out. The RCMP and a local woman had stopped to help out in directing traffic back the opposite way. We were allowed to pass as we knew this person. I proceeded to get pics and footage until we were told we had to leave.

Brianna I am sorry that your family have been uprooted and have lost the luxury of just sleeping in your own beds and having your own clothing. Your family is very strong and you all will pull together to make it through. Strange even though we live so close, we are virtually unscathed. It has been a hard road listening to a lot of negative comments and spending time removing the majority of them. I can't imagine how you feel and wished no one had to. Hoping you are able to get home soon.

Looks like a wild ride! I hope the people of Sicamous get through this without any serious injuries.

I was out in Vernon last weekend and yes, it is as bad or worse than what the media is showing you..I feel really bad for the people who have to live in this area and endure the hardship...the tourism season is a shambles...Dave in Calgary

People with comments like that will say anything to offend and try to get a reaction. It's best to just delete the comment and make their time in posting it wasted time.

Take your nasty comments elsewhere...have you dealt personally with a National Disaster?...NO I THINK NOT...so buzz off and let us get our lives back on track and rebuild Sicamous back to it's full potential. We are dealing with enough, without dealing with the ignorance of you...stop the nasty comments or be removed...we need prayers, not your nasty comments!!!

ya i herd that man shot his co-workers. obviously his goal was to gain trust and intelegence. then shoot, kill and take as he needed. may his life be full of tortures during his life in prison. that is if the man is sane and just simply a horribly selfish person. my hart goes out to the people experiencing there life and all they worked for drifting away.
