    My review of a Shelterlogic 10X20 garage that has been up for over 3 years. These are more money than a Harbor Freight version but they use a heavier tarp and the frame is beefier as well.

    Nice boat and canopy. I'd love to get a 19' Superfisherman to replace my 16' Starcraft SS, someday. I pay $170 to shrink wrap it, so your brother is saving some money doing it this way.

      +Craig Arndt It's my favorite kind of boat....someone else's ;-) It's a nice boat and yea he's saving a few bucks this way. It's pretty much indoor storage and if there's a break in the weather he can hook it up and run out real quick and try and catch something. The only thing with these tents is you need a little bit of space although I'm seeing these portable garages showing up everywhere now though.

    Are the 4x4's anchored to the ground?

    • @burbbilly
      @burbbilly  7 лет назад

      I don't believe that he did anchor them but I'll check and let you know. On my tent I did not anchor the boards, figure the weight alone would hold it down.

      Alan, I talked to him and it was not anchored and it blew over in a storm. He now has it anchored.

      The Burb Billy Thanks. I'm looking at picking up one of these as a temporary garage for my tractor but still trying to do research to see how long I should expect thing this to last.

      You should be able to expect 2-3 years easily and possibly much more. My brother's started to leak at the top after a couple years and he strapped a tarp over it that is then attached that to the ground with those metal stakes that have a thread to them, kind of like a pigs tail look. He hasn't had any issues since. My harbor freight tent is past the one year point and doing well. Has taken all kinds of weather and I would recommend if it fits your needs. Have seen some of those up past the 3-4 year mark.

      its been a bit since I did the vid but if I remember right he has it staked at a few points. The tent is next to his garage and although he gets wind there it's not as bad as I get in my backyard where I have my tent. Mine is attached to a floating floor but the weight of everything in the tent adds to the floor and to this point I have not had a problem don't know if you saw it or not but here is a link ruclips.net/video/z6i0-t-6uIU/видео.html

    I had mine up for six months and the roof, and doors rotted..
    The frame is great, but the materials that the tarp is made from is horrible..
    I dnt think the tarp has Uv protection. The sun just rotted it.

    This not the same as the 10x20 auto shelter. The gray tarp models are more expensive but stronger than the sandstone

      John im running a harbor freight 10 x 20 in my yard and its doing well, they are the cheapest of all the tent-garages ive seen. Its been up for almost a year now and seen some really rough weather, 50 plus mph winds. I dont see these as a permanent solution, just a temp until I can build a shed but id be pissed if it only lasted me a year so I hear you but your the first ive heard of one tearing out like that. You contact the company about it? Should not have happened, ive seen these up 3 -4 years and counting

      Mine was up for 6 months and rip down the middle and on the corners. It basically rotted, you can just barely touch it, and it just start ripping. I think it's has no UV protection and the sun destroyed it.

    My 12x20 shelter logic only lasted a little over a year. Ripped in half right on the top in the middle. What piece of crap for the money I paid for it. I do not recommend this item at all.

      Hi Juan,
      We are very sorry to hear about this! Fabric life is affected by application, location and the physical elements the shelter is exposed to. All of our shelters include a minimum one year warranty and if your cover tears within that time period we suggest filing a claim and having that reviewed and possibly replaced by the corresponding department. We also offer many replacement cover options, including heavier materials that may have longer warranties and life expectancies which might better suit your needs. If you have any other questions or concerns please feel free to call us at 1-800-932-9344.
