    I’ve got a Clarke tent and it’s saved my classic car from several winters.
    Be aware the cover rots from UV and after 4 years I needed to replace it. Note, Machine Mart/Clarke will sell you a replacement cover for around half the cost of a new tent.
    All in all a great piece of kit.

    That’s such a good design! ( the mistake most people make with car covers is laying the canvas against the bodywork which just holds water which accelerates the rust really quickly.

    Hi, great ,that's what I am thinking of getting. Good info and has made my mind up. How is it holding up in these current storms?

    • @InTheWorkshop
      @InTheWorkshop  2 года назад +4

      It has survived both of the storms, I do have a ratchet strap inside the centre of the doorway fixed to a thick rubber belt going over the apex of the frame which I ratchet down to a loop fixed in to some thick slabs. This is inline with the doorway legs so any force I create when doing the strap up will go down the legs and not bending any of the ridge tubes. Don't know if this has helped make it survive but it made me feel better 🙂👍

    • @InTheWorkshop
      @InTheWorkshop  2 года назад +2

      Hi, I did a bit of an update on this in one of my videos but can't remember which. Yeah it's lasting great but I have got a ratchet strap inside holding it down in the centre of the doorway. This is to give it some extra holding down in gales etc. Condensation will form on inside of roof unless you have a solid floor or put a good quality tarpaulin covering the ground.

    Great video, I have been told the paint on the tubes rubs off easily and goes rusty with the cover rubbing on them, I would give it a good coat of Hammer right paint and letting it dry before putting the cover on, this could always be done at a later date. Regards

    • @InTheWorkshop

    • @InTheWorkshop
      @InTheWorkshop  2 года назад +3

      It's holding up well, I think the ratchet strap and rubber loop I have holding it down is stopping high winds from causing any damage. Also the large ground sheet I have on the floor stops any condensation 👍

    • @InTheWorkshop
      @InTheWorkshop  2 года назад

      Mine is okay as I have a ratchet strap permanently going to a rubber belt which is going over the frame at the door end and strapping down to concrete slabs. If I need to get the car or anything wide in I just loosen the strap hook it to the side then reattach it down after I have what I need inside. 🙂👍
