Heru- deshet People can’t access those tunnels idiot. The tunnels will be used by transit vehicles which will lower down into the tunnel on lifts at ground-level stations

Dude there’s hundreds of automated high-speed subways in Europe. Take the DLR in London for example. It’s fully automated and was opened in the 90s..

And what happens when the next big earthquake hits and you're in one of Elon's test tunnels?...

Bennie_and_a_jet This same problem can occur in any type of train subway

Earthquakes are a surface phenomenon. Being in a tunnel during an earthquake is like being in a submarine during a hurricane. I could see problems with the vertical tunnels shearing but if you were in a lower tunnel there would not be an issue. Given that the fraction of a travel time in which one descends/ascends would be a small percent of the total travel time, this risk should be small.
Further, the proposed tunnels are far smaller than those for a subway and are therefore much less prone to collapse as the smaller surface area of the tunnel makes it more resistant to fluctuations in pressure that a larger tunnel.

Seems like a stupid idea. But then again, so is the Tesla electric car. LOL

Ya, it's not like cars and trains have been going through tunnels for a century now...
There is being behind the times and there is being a complete moron.
