One of the very few bands now days that intentionally focus more on the halftime show vs stands, goes out there to put on a good drill, good concert selection and fire dance routine like back in the day. Not just going through the motions, blowing loud all the time, lazy/non creative dance routine and then blow loud some more at the sidelines. Thank you FAMU for keeping traditional HBCU halftime shows in 2024...I said what I said!
Nice drill and nice sound! Clean playing. Upper brass are standing out this year, but I think the mellophones are the most outstanding, particularly in the concert selection. Bravo!
And I also like that the horns and euphoniums are not just blasting with no discipline to cover up for weak trumpets. They should complement the trumpets - not be a substitute for trumpets.
@TheMusicMan568 indeed. The mellos and euphs add depth and richness to this band. You can hear EVERY NOTE in the arrangements, and the color of each instrument=good balance.

I 100% agree. That extra punch from the French Horns really accentuates certain harmonies that otherwise go unnoticed.
