      How do you know what number to put under the radical? Is it just the number without a group?

    • @MariosMathTutoring
      @MariosMathTutoring  5 лет назад +9

      Yes you got it Austin! And if there are two numbers without a group multiply them together and put them under the radical.

    • @taylorprice2514
      @taylorprice2514 4 года назад

      Mario's Math Tutoring when we multiply them together (the ones without groups) do we just put that under or do we put the square root under? That might have been confusing so sorry but I am working on √150 and I have 5√ but I wasn’t sure if I put a 6 or a different number

    I used to have a very hard time simplifying radicals through dividing out perfect squares but ever since I discovered this concept (especially since I know my prime numbers) I realized it would be the best method for me so I started working with factor trees. Factor trees with prime #’s work much much better for me than trying to divide out perfect squares. This is why I keep saying it really helps to know your prime numbers when simplifying radicals.

    Awesome video! I’m trying to become more solid on my math fundamentals and, until now, simplifying radicals has been a huge weak point of mine because it felt like guesswork. This is so much easier.

    THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS!! i just started school again, and classes are already overwhelming.
    my teacher literally gave this equation in her lesson : "√144 = 12 so, 12 squared = √144." like, how do you even get 12 without a proper method?! it made no sense. but now i understand from your video! thank you so much, really. you saved my life..
