    I would definitely suggest that you try that post-apocalyptic deckbuilder that you didn't like early on in your experiences because if it was "Arctic Scavengers", not only is it one of my favorites but it is also the card game that influenced the Conflict Phase in "Dune Imperium" (saving cards to be able to acquire new cards)

    • @TheDiscriminatingGamer

      @@TheDiscriminatingGamer Word of warning...it's a TERRIBLE game when played with just the original base game, but try the Arctic Scavengers + HQ + Recon version (bigger box) and I agree with Edward, it's a fantastic game that is very newby friendly and yet has enough strategy/bluffing that experienced players with continue to enjoy it. Arctic Scavengers/Recon is my SOLID #2, this is coming from someone that agrees wholeheartedly that Legedary Aliens is truly THE best deckbuilder.

    Just got back into Marvel Legendary. It's incredibly versatile and the variety of schemes and masterminds constantly keeps things fresh. The set up and tear down can be a bear and you have to have a love affair with shuffling, but the end result is worth it. I've played/own a good amount of Marvel Champions and a little United, but I keep wanting to come back to Legendary. Wish Legendary Encounters Alien would/could be reprinted, but definitely looking forward to Legendary Encounters The Matrix.

    • @DangerDavez
      @DangerDavez Год назад +1

      The initial setup is brutal. Like the worst I've ever seen. The cards are not organized and have the same back so you have to organize like 500 cards with the miniscule writing at the bottom of each card. The box also has nothing to separate and organize with so you have to figure that out as well. An absolute joke for a100$ game...
      But it is a pretty damn good game and once you have it organized properly the setup and teardown is really quick. Less than 10 minutes if you don't mix and match different sets. I got these plastic playing card boxes from amazon and separated all the scenario and HQ cards in their own little box based on movie. It's also a surprisingly easy game to teach and new players could easily just drop in and play. It's definitely a great game to introduce to non gamers with it being co-op and having a great theme. Love how it builds up tension.

    • @TheDiscriminatingGamer
      @TheDiscriminatingGamer  Год назад +1

      I've got them both. Covenant is just another movie to play through, so more of a good thing. The Queen expansion really mixes the game up with one player playing the Queen and working against the players. That mode is extremely difficult for the players to win, so I rarely break that one out - the game is hard enough as it is.

Two player head to head themed around playing as a pair of lanistas scheming and plotting against one another to curry favour amongst the Roman nobility (deckbuilding phase) and then pitting your camps of gladiators against one another in the arena during the Combat phases once the Colliseum crowd's Bloodlust reaches a threshold.
