State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller addressed reports of Hamas potentially moving to Iraq, stating that the US has made it clear that no country should provide a safe haven for Hamas.
When asked about indications from the Iraqi government on this matter, Miller declined to comment on private diplomatic conversations.
Regarding threats from the Islamic Resistance in Iraq to resume attacks on US forces, Miller deferred to the Pentagon but emphasized that US forces are in Iraq at the invitation of the Iraqi government to conduct anti-terrorism activities, and any attacks on US forces will be met with an appropriate response.
