You mean those families that were getting 10's of thousands of dollars are now going to have their Hellcat/Teslas repo'd? Maybe instead of buying new cars and scratch tickets, they should have paid off their debts and let that taxpayer money buy them a permanant raise.
Well, this is common sense, but common sense ain’t very common. There’s literally no need to scold people that squander their ticket outta poverty. They apparently like being poor and or they’ve oblivious to the reality that our country is destined to deal with. Either way they will see the error of their ways very soon.
I hear you but a bigger question is why aren't schools teaching finance,economics as normal parts of curriculum in k-12 schools. The system benefits from misspending, everyone does not have the knowledge to pass down info or think they ever will and are merely living for today and not tomorrow.
I feel like we knew this was gonna happen… it was inevitable to end eventually. There was a point when career pivot was SO EASY and employers were literally begging people to work. Even people with backgrounds who never had a chance, got the opportunity to reenter the workforce. As a case manager and bartender I heard all kinds of stories! There was a season of rest, and then an opportunity to really dig in… now that we’re about to decline, it’s going to get really hard for people relying on “free” money to sustain their lifestyles 😬 Remember when people were saying they didn’t want jobs because staying home paid more? That was a trap.
Why don't they just make a standard tax deduction per child? That way the government doesn't wind up giving any more money ergo don't have to print more; they just don't make as much in revenue.
