  • Thom took a moment close to the end of the show to address the crowd over the ongoing situation stemmed from the 2012 stage collapse at Downsview Park.... crowd proceeds to not shut up during a moment of silence.

    Obnoxiously screams: WE LOVE YOU!!! If you did... You wouldn't be disrespectful like that in a time of silence.

    I feel SOOOOO embarrassed for the people who could not give a single moment of silence in memory of Scott Johnson. Radiohead is more than a band, it is a family, a community of people that share a common love and passion. Radiohead has given soo much to soo many... hope, happiness, a reason to feel good... and they ask for so little in return. After watching this video I had tears in my eyes and went outside to sit and think about Scott and the band... there was no yelling, no screaming... only the sound of rain drops as the sky opened up.... RIP Scott. Gone but not forgotten. ❤

      yes. But he was not going on about music or the concert. He was talking about a tragedy ...these people have absolutely no respect for him or the death of the man being remembered. He should have just left. No refund. He was there, he tried to say something that meant a lot to him, and they couldn't stay silent for less than 3 minutes.

    I was at that concert in Toronto, it happened just before soundcheck and right before security opened the gates to let the crowd thru security check. I was right up against that gate and watched as the stage collapsed. It was so sad and horrifying, especially for my first, and only, concert I've ever been to. I have pictures of the stage before, during, and after the collapse. It was more upsetting that even after the news of a death onstage that many ppl in the crowd were getting angry to the point where I thought there was going to be a riot. We were all very lucky that the band was not on stage and the crowd in the field because there would have been dozens of lives, including the members in the band, taken in front of thousands and thousands of concert goers. I for sure would have been most likely killed or severely injured myself as I would have been right in the front row. I'm still devastated by this event and so sorry for the members of the band for the loss of their friend and drum technician. ☹️❤️

    Scott was drum tech in my local music shop. He was a much loved and respected lad, and his mum and dad have been through hell. The people shouting out need to hang their heads. Personally, I wouldn't have touched Canada till the courts secured justice for Scott, and all those who work in the industry, safe in the knowledge that no-one gives a f*ck about all those people behind the scenes that make these shows happen. Corporate manslaughter.

    I'm a teacher in France and sometimes, it's hard just to shut the mouth of 30 teenagers, even for "One minute Of Silence". So, I guess it's even harder for a fistful of people to shut up...Like Kurt Cobain once said ; "We are loved by people we don't like", so; it's the same for Radiohed : even guys who don't have any education attended the shows....By, the way, Radiohead are always amazing, like in this video !

    radiohead have felt so bad for that one person who died even though it was not their fault, they post about it every year and constantly try to help out his family. Travis scott is pure garbage.

    🙄this is why I’m thankful to have seen them many times pre-fame (94-98) when they could still play a small theater, and people were just in silent, stunned amazement.

    Holy fuck, Toronto should not only be ashamed for the lack of justice in this situation, but also for its apparently abhorrent concert-goers. Shame on those loudmouths.

      OH yeah its totally Thom's fault that drunk people can't STFU. I think the profanity was to emphasis the lack of justice.

      Dani Thomas again, who permitted alcohol to be passed out at their concert? I love Tom too, but it still works both ways. Facts: he did not clearly state that it was a moment of silence. The profanity and anger were words that stir up, so how were they all to know to be silent?

    • @SaoLorenco
      @SaoLorenco 6 лет назад +19

      Southsideman you’d have to be pretty thick not to realise that was supposed to be a minute’s silence. And just because alcohol is available at a concert, as it is in the vast majority of concerts, doesn’t give people an excuse to get rat-arsed and shout crap. It’d be annoying even if there wasn’t supposed to be a tribute to a deceased colleague.

    • @southsideman4891

      Dani Thomas i more thaqn understand how you feel. I dont drink and never been drunk or high in my life, it is sad they cannot control themselves. Radiohead more than know how to deal with those guys as they have for decades and showed here that night. Ultilmate its about a man who lost his life.
