We have Doosan forklifts at our shop. Their Junk. I’ve always been a CAT man with equipment rentals till my dealer brought me a Doosan excavator. I wasn’t happy, he said “try it for a day” if you don’t like it he’ll bring me a CAT instead. I’m completely sold on Doosan. Construction equipment is a very good line as far as I’m concerned. Looking forward to running that dozer this year
Pile density of that type is totally inconsistent , consquently poor test.I've ran equipment for 30 years and have had lots to do with snow. Do that test with and equal pile of 3/4 crush or equal consistency dirt.
You would also have to examine the cost of ownership over the lifespan of the machines, undercarriage service repair rebuilds, fuel consumptions, maintenance, dealership service support and parts availability network, resale values etc. The CAT will have a higher purchase price but after weighing ownership expense for the lifetime of the machine dealership network it would be the better option imo without crunching the actual numbers.
And overall the winner changes from place to place. Where I’m at geographically speaking it’s exponentially easier to get a John Deere dealer or repair guy. Like 2-1 or more
@@georgewelker853 great point! We built two golf courses in Japan and the dominant equipment manufacturer, dealership and parts supplier was Komatsu, who makes great equipment don’t get me wrong, there are plenty of good construction equipment manufacturers in the market but if you have limited support in the areas of parts network and knowledge dealerships support then you will have nothing but expensive time consuming problems, learned the hard way when machine prices were being placed above everything else when acquiring the equipment for major projects.
Great video I love these types of videos! You don’t have to tell me specific numbers but are you just able to tell me which one cost more? I was just curious on which one is more expensive, I know that you guys are just demoing the DD100 but I figured that you might know the numbers on it. Thanks keep up the great work catch you on the next one!
The Doosan seems to have a big blade spillover issue. Blade top geometry brings material too close to the grill. The slope hood design is cool for visibility but looks like it lends to more debris issues. We should be looking at wiring and electronic quality. Who makes the hydraulic pumps and motors. Do a metallurgy test on undercarriage (of course that it too much to ask of a demo scenario). Do a parts available study on which machine you can get parts for the fastest and the price of comparable parts. The doosan should be outperforming the Cat here considering it's the newest design that copied the design of other brands preceding it's design and it has to prove itself to customers. If Doosan could make this machine a standard with contractors (much like a ford f150) where the machine is common and parts are abundant....it would be worth it. Much like the Prius or crown Vic for taxis.
I love my cats but our company's d3 has been a pile of junk great grading machine however in 2000 hours the track pads wore completely out. all the bushings in the blade as well. failed multiple def sensors. Alternator failure. All within 2000 hours I'm just not impressed with it.
This young man has one hell of a business. God bless

This is the first time i see a Rotortilt on a escavator in a video from USA! Finaly!! 😃👍
Great visibility on the Doosan.
I know from your other video but boy does that cat blade roll so much better
Its a shame your videos are only 10 minutes! I could probably watch your work for hours! keep up the great content!
The operator in the doosan is dropping the blade after he peaks the grade which is causing him to stop
Just watching the snow roll off the boards, the cat will definitely work better in the dirt, the geometry on doosan isn’t quite right

Now we are talking, snow dozers!
Would be nice to know the price point of each unit that would help make a determination also
Hello. Is it the way the video was taped or is the Develon/Doosan really that much quieter?
Compressor for a motor now ,gear changes are flawless with de exselerate peddle gone
My D5G works awesome pushing snow off the frozen swamps to dig wildlife ponds
Sounds like fun
@@GarrettWilliams2017 I’m not asking for any secrets I hope but who painted your equipment?
Nice freaking equipment Garrett
The problem with a doosan is you own a doosan.
Just wonder how well the Doosan will stay together.
Me too(-:
ah yes that will be there next winter
I’d say the orange one moves more.

Cat cost more, doosan around 145k, cat around 180k

Sheeesh that seems ridiculous!
Der Doosanfahrer hat keine Ahnung. Der auf der Cat ist Profi.
Can't compare these at all, Doosan is 2000kg more than the D3. Its more in competition with the D4 where it would lose.
In LGP configuration, D3 weighs 21,400 lbs and DD100 is 23,400 lbs. That's a 900kg difference..
cat stronge❤❤❤
Imagine supporting Doosan. Yikes
Cat 👎. Doosan ❤️👍
