Genuinely think he’s too smart for most of the people who are currently (Youngers) listening to rap/hip-hop/grime, whatever you want to call it. They don’t want have to think too hard and would rather listen to trash mumble rappers. If these two were out 15 years ago they would be on every radio station and in every true music fans playlist. They are insanely underrated, especially Avelino as Dave is finally getting noticed (still not enough). You guys are my “go to” for a REAL breakdown.
Jon Rogers he’s just too intellectual. You’re right, the average teenager will take a bite out of his music and spit it out. As they get older though they’ll hopefully wake up and see the amount of talent he brings.
Love this. Clearly an underrated artist internationally. I feel like the UK has some amazing rappers and it is awesome knowing that you guys really appreciate that kind of lyricism. Much love from across the pond

Honestly I think Avelino is super talented but he's too smart & cerebral for a lot of people which is maybe why he doesn't have the same profile as some of the other guys you named. He's also less commercial than those guys too & I think he likes it that way. He can do what he wants with less pressure from anyone. It's cool to not be too cool if you know what I mean.

Your last comment on how his message and purpose is on top on Dave’s list is absolutely spot on, whereas with Avelino you can tell that he is more focused on delivering hard and clever bars while making sure the message does not get lost.
It purely comes down to preference between these two guys. Dave is a better storyteller in my opinion, while Avelino is even more clever than Dave with his writing of bars.
I love the exposure given to these UK guys. If you would like to do more UK music, please delve into Ghetts and Kano. They are the two biggest figures in the grime scene for me and deserve much more exposure than they currently get. Ghetts’ daily duppy is especially good in my opinion.

Just looking back on this video and realising how Avelino as an older artist reflects on how he slept on his talents and didn’t act and tells u not to do so and does it from and aftermath perspective, while Dave as a younger artist is sending a message of motivation and using your opportunity’s before they pass you by , and does so from before the fact perspective during his come up, just insane depth in the two
