I imagine in the future 2010's make up tutorial. "Okay so first we are gonna prime. Priming was all the rage so prime prime PRIME! And next color correct (even if you don't need it). Eyebrows were ALL the rage. If you didn't have brows then what was life? Next we are gonna do a series of drag make up techniques because we need that flawless coverage." Omg and I would be watching like "omg they are so right I did that!"
We’re already looking back at 2010’s makeup now being like “wtf” but I swear in another 20 years those of us who spent our teenhoods in the 2010’s are going to be questioning why we felt the need to get SO much coverage and cakiness.
This will probably be the least popular but would like to see a natural 80's look. Like Molly Ringwald in The Breakfast Club, Sixteen Candles, Pretty in Pink.
Audrey Jacob I think it’s an awesome idea! I was born in 1971, so the 70s are interesting to me...& the John Hughes films are, in a sense, literally my life! I love your suggestion!
It's not really a time period look but could you do one of Cher's over the top looks? I love watching your videos, you bring such life and fun to them!
+Violet Rayne Hi! Thank you for the request! One of the video ideas I have for 2016 is to show someone like Cher through the decades, her 70s look, 80s, 90s, 2000s ... in ONE video. Same can be done for Madonna! So yes, in a sense, I will absolutely keep that in mind for you! ;)
Cool!! That purple eyeshadow looks stunning on you!! XD Ohh have you ever thought of doing a classic Leia look? I have been investigating the Princess Leia look for weeks. And you will look amazing, as always!! To me, you do the most accurate historical and personification tutorials ever. You take your time, you investigate.... way to go girl!!XDXD
+Isabelle Etiévant omg! yes! who can forget that hairsprayed bangs straight up off the forehead to the heavens and sides of hair looking like wings? I can still remember walking into the girls bathroom and tasting hairspray
+Mop Queen I think it's any easy mistake to make. Let's face it, most of us couldn't even come close to doing a video as good as this. She's very well spoken so I can certainly overlook things like this.
Zabrina now you KNOW I was there and a major Disco dancer every night (Yes Every night! I lived at Buzby's, Trocadero Transfer, The I-Beam and Dreamland ...just to name a few San Francisco Discos of the day) So I know the look. And YOU got it down! Burn baby burn! Salute et fabuleux! PS...I cut my very long straight hair in 1975 and went for a short tight perm!)
+Lanier Smith Agghhhh, can you see my face turning pea green with jealousy?!!? You party animal, you! What a time to be alive! I love that you did the perm, too! Thank you for your always most kind words, my dear! HUGS!! xoxoxo!
I came of age during the Disco era, and I wore the purple eyeshadow and wine lipstick (I think it was Wine With Everything by Revlon), along with Revlon Touch and Glow foundation in Ivory. And, ah, I remember the 70' s stripe blush!! Never went to a Disco but loved the makeup and the music!! Thanks, Zabrena!!😊
I was 22 in the early 70's and wore my hair in the shag style. Dorothy Hamill was also very influential with the "bowl" cut. Thanks for sharing, Zabrina. Like they say in Vegas, what happened in the 70's, stays in the 70's. :) Jane
+mrsiloveanime Would definitely be interesting, but I'm not sure how smart being totally accurate during certain historical eras - including medieval - would be. There were a lot of things used we now know to be extremely toxic, like lead based powders.
+LilyC Beauty She uses modern makeup to recreate the looks. Like when she had done the 1800s video (I think that's what it was) she speaks about the skin makeup during that time was incredibly harmful. The accurate part is more of the what it looks like, not what they actually used.
LilyC Beauty it will be interesting to know what was considered beautiful in that era, and by the way I love the medieval dresses and clothing of that era in general. How about you?
+mrsiloveanime for the most part, makeup before the 1920s was basically variations of rouged cheeks and lips with pale skin. They experience spikes of how acceptable it was to make the cosmetics known, though. Ex: in the victorian era, makeup was taboo but women still wore it secretly (paint to hide blemishes and lighten the face and rouge to redden the cheeks). In the 18th century french courts, pale skin with red cheeks and pink lips were the style as well, but you could be more obvious with the application (which is why the faces were painted stark white and the cheeks were rosy red.) The medieval era was a time of labour, for the most part, and while makeup like eyeliner and eyeshadow was produced fashion dictated that it wasn't really worn. However, i would LOVE to see her go into the history of cosmetics during this time because it is HILARIOUS. Cosmetics and loose morals were synonymous around this time, and yet we know women would sometimes wear makeup (although usually it was just prostitutes). How did women around this time get around wearing makeup? the clergy made exceptions, of course! sick and looking gross? okay god will forgive just cover up those dark circles for christ sake, Margaret. Had to marry your husband for money but he thinks you're gross-looking and he might cheat on you? okay, its not sinful if you put a little rouge on- but not enough to attract another man's wife!! God if she goes into this era i hope she mentions signora toffana: a woman who invented a powder foundation with arsenic in it and told women who married their husbands to wear it in front of them. After the men would kiss their cheeks and die, the women were left as rich widows!
1980-1984 feathered hair & 80s makeup . I was in high school and my sister and I went through bottles & bottles of Aquanet. There was a purple eyeshadow quad from Cover Girl that I repurchased several times with my babysitting money. And we didn't pluck our eyebrows (Brooke Shields) It would be fun to see that recreated.
One that would be fun to see isn't really another time period but maybe you could do a historically accurate makeup tutorial on how you used to do your makeup maybe way back when you first stated wearing it with all me possibly funny little mistakes like unblended eyeshadow blocks and foundation lines????
How about a geisha look? Geishas are very interesting, well known for their looks but deep because they required to know about art, literature, theater and music. Other suggestion could be about women during the Regency era, they used to care more about their skin.
One of the original makeup lines to come out during the disco era was a line called stagelights. They made a matching shadow and gloss called Blue Roses. They are still in excistance and the shade is still available. You did a great job recreating the colors and textures from that time.
+violetfaire I loved Stagelight. They were my holy grail for makeup. I owned probably every shade of their eye sparkles, eye pencils and most of the lipsticks. I still have my old pot of Pink Champagne left.
My mother used a shimmery blue by Revlon and her favorite lip was by Mary Quant. I also remember watching her put her lashes on, individually to top and bottom, very very Twiggy. Boy did I think she was the most beautiful woman alive :)
I also remember a lot of girls in the '70s wearing light blue eyeshadow and light frosted lipstick. I hated the look but it was popular. It led the Paula Begoun (of Paula's Choice) writing her book "Blue Eyeshadow Should Be Illegal."
You do a really superb job with these videos! I was born in '72 and when I was in kindergarten and grade school this is how I remember women looking on TV. I was a little young to see Saturday night fever but one of my favorite shows was Dance Fever and also Solid Gold. I love this. What a flashback for me!
I remember when my mother had that Cher 'do and thin, rainbow-shaped brows. I also remember coveting her lip gloss that smelled like bubblegum. It was a clear and had a rollerball applicator - I think it was a Maybelline Kissing Potion? I just wanted to lick it all the time, LOL. Using a clothes iron on your face seems like a recipe for disaster.
Really cool I was born in 1970 so I would like to ask for your take on a New romantic / Duran Duran /spandeau ballet/ Japan look, I tried so many times to copy that look when I was 12-13 and it never came out right which maybe why I embraced the rock/ punk / stevie nicks look I was such a Duranie and used to get so upset that I couldn't copy their makeup and hair look.
OMG - this look is perfection. I was a teenager and you have completely captured 'the look' to a tee! Of course, your look is far prettier than how we really looked.
I love this! I'm looking at old pictures of my mom and she wore her hair and makeup JUST like this! Yes, you look like the "white" version of my mom! :p
Hey Zabrena! This look is absolutely fabulous!! I am in LOVE with your historically accurate series. It has seriously helped me so much with enjoying makeup art and with feeling adorable. :) I was thinking, perhaps you could do an early 70's Glam Rock look- like David Bowie or Marc Bolan style. You could do it on yourself (which would help us girls know how to replicate it; I have a bit of trouble not looking kinda silly when I try to do a Bowie inspired look) or have one of your willing male friends model for ya! Hope ya like my suggestion! Keep workin' it, girl! ;D
I remember this look! Now I'll be singing "MacArthur Park" all day! {{ MacArthur's Park is melting in the dark. All the sweet, green icing flowing down...}} I would love to see an 80's look. I'm an 80's girl and remember those makeup looks fondly.
I was a teenager during the 70's and you got it down! If only we had the common sense to blend out our makeup like you did we would not cringe when looking at our old photos. You are so beautiful and creative. Thank you for making my day.
Hi! I love this video! I was wondering if you could do a 1940s WWII era look maybe a pin up one? It was a very interesting time for women and I'd love to see how you would do the makeup for it!!
I don't know if I've really seen anyone do this before but I'd love to see you do a geisha look. I think it's a very lovely look that you don't see many people do. Or an every day Egyptian look.
annoyingly i have many purple shades - except the one you use (which would have gone perfectly with the shoes i'm gonna wear) either way, i now have to choose between a more deep plum purple (sometimes turns out more pink) or a brighter lilac. Which do you think would be more authentic? The plum warms up my face which while looks nice it kind of looks like i've been punched in the face if i'm not careful, while the lilac seems to make me look even paler than i already am (i'm very pale) and can accent my veins... What do you think? I need to wear purple tho because i'm wearing a bluey-green dress + headband but purple shoes + if i put blue/green on my lids it will be too much of that colour (in my eyes - which are also green :P). I could really use your help.
How about doing the Glam Rock era style? I would like that very much too (like: Marc Bolan of T Rex and David Bowie, The Sweet, just to name a few). 😊🎸🎩✳️🇬🇧
That hair is hilarious. I didn't see that hair on any of my mom's girlfriends. But it was popular back then. That and those pick combs with the big fist on the end.
I'm aware that it wasn't that long ago but I'd like to see an early 2000s emo makeup. It was mostly worn by guys but I have always thought it was a beautiful look and it seems to be dying down or glamming up lol.
My mom was always encouraged my Crystal Gail more than Cher to grow her hair long. Her hair was so long it was unreal. And thick and curly. I remember her rolling her hair in this HUGE HUGE rollers to loosen her natural curl. One of her friends used an iron to straighten her hair. Then came around 1981 and my mom cut half her hair off. She had super long curly hair. Now its long, just not as long and still super curly.
Back to the 90s. Based on the girls of Beverly hills 90210. They are all a bit different so maybe a video for each girl? Plus they have different days. I am in high school and would love a More wearable 90s look, and I think the ones from the show would be perfect. I would especially love it if you could recommend drugstore products once again since I am in high school an high end makeup only come to me around Christmastime so, that won't be very easy for me. Please!
my dad permed his hair it was a laugh riot. can the time machine travel to the very early in history or maybe a roman look. what roman women would have worn or the greeks?
My mom went to some sort of make up school or something & they taught her to do the very shimmery light blue eye shadow, black liquid liner (top only), pink, iridescent blush & a pink iridescent lipstick. She is such a creature of habit that she never changed colors or brands until almost the mid-80s (‘83?) when my parents divorced.😂 I like to change my makeup look every single day. I get bored easily.
Having fun watching all of these historical women you do. Outstanding. Coming from a woman 72. Thank you make my day. Dis abled but still I like taking care of myself and makeup. Love all you do with make up and the dos and don'ts. 💕
Loved this makeup Zabrena, but I miss those bubbles that you used to share in the videos with info about that period of time. Maybe with favorite movies and music of that time :)
aww, thomasina (idk if I spelled that right)!! What a beauty she was. I love seeing her in the video. it makes me smile. :) pets are so important, even when they have passed. they remind us what unconditional love and loyalty are.
I imagine in the future 2010's make up tutorial.
"Okay so first we are gonna prime. Priming was all the rage so prime prime PRIME! And next color correct (even if you don't need it). Eyebrows were ALL the rage. Love it when you do these since there's always new trends nice to go back in those days
How about an Ancient Greek toturial or... Elizabethan? ^_^
I'd love to see a historically accurate look inspired by Judy Garland :)
a historically accurate 80s goth look would be amazing to see xD Can that please be possible!!
It's not really a time period look but could you do one of Cher's over the top looks? I love watching your videos, you bring such life and fun to them!

That sounds like a great idea! Thank you!
I'm a history major who also loves makeup so these videos are like crack for me. Love how detailed and accurate you are, must take a lot of research!
+David Jones Yes! Thank you so much for the appreciation! :)
I HAVE MISSED thESE SO MUCH!!!
cute and fun!! these are classic videos you made, top quality.
I love the historical tutorials, thanks
I'm happy you changed the name of the channel! You deserve it
Zabrena! Yay! She's so fun!!
Cool!! That purple eyeshadow looks stunning on you!! XD
Ohh have you ever thought of doing a classic Leia look? I have been investigating the Princess Leia look for weeks. And you will look amazing, as always!! To me, you do the most accurate historical and personification tutorials ever. You take your time, you investigate.... way to go girl!!XDXD
+Adriana Cuadrado Thank you so much for taking the time to say that! I appreciate it! :)
What about a Rita Hayward look? Love this series so much from you! Love you Z! 💜💜💜
My hair is extremely curly too!
Love this era, I would love to see one of Debbie Harry. Also Sharon Tate Valley of the dolls was so lovely.
do you ever wear your hair curly? i just started watching your channel, and i'd love to see your curly hair routine.
what about makeup prostitutes wore in the late 1800?
Awesome idea
rngy33 agreed I need a new everyday look
SaltyBitch 😂😂😂 same
Could you do spice girls make up tutorial as they where big influence back in the 2000.
yes! needs more brown lipstick and thin brows!!
yes!!!
yes!!!
Omg yasss!!! 🙏
69The lone wolfess69 Yes, she already did a 90's, but Im thinking more like do each of the spice girls make up tutorial as they where all different.
I wonder why you didn't just style your natural hair if it's already curly and big. Great video otherwise.
Ancient Rome/Greece???
Yes that would be awesome
Yes!!!!!
yes x1000!!!!
yes please
They had a saying back then that a good wife was never seen, lol! So not sure if they even used makeup. Would be interesting to find out
Didn't Bowie have an impact on disco makeup? I miss him so much RIP
Yes and Stevie Nicks
yes! the best.
not disco
glam rock? x
Yes!! Glam rock!!
Yes yes yes!!!! Zabrena please do a glam rock look! Poison inspired lol
+Isabelle Etiévant omg! yes! who can forget that hairsprayed bangs straight up off the forehead to the heavens and sides of hair looking like wings? I can still remember walking into the girls bathroom and tasting hairspray
YEEEEESSSSS
I would love to see a look inspired by Elizabeth Taylor in the early 1950's. Such a classic beauty!
I second this! Although I always end up realizing that it's not the makeup that was special. It was her face! 😭
Yes Elizabeth Taylor makeup was beautiful.
Yesss!!!
yes!
Did she say "Cabernet ?"
+Mop Queen Yes she did....I'm sure she meant Cabaret.
+Mop Queen LOL Too early for wine?! Hee hee ... I mean 'Cabaret' - whoops ;)
I think so, cabaret and cabernet sound pretty alike though so probably just a flub
+Mop Queen I think it's any easy mistake to make. Let's face it, most of us couldn't even come close to doing a video as good as this. She's very well spoken so I can certainly overlook things like this.
+RangerMommy yeah it's just a small flub, no big deal, her talent is obviously spectacular!
Can you do an Old West 1890's look?
Victorian Gibson Girl
+Juliana Handy That would totally be awesome
+Juliana Handy I wish I could give this a million thumbs up! I really want her to do this next!
I was 22 in the early 70's and wore my hair in the shag style. Dorothy Hamill was also very influential with the "bowl" cut. Thanks for sharing, Zabrina. Like they say in Vegas, what happened in the 70's, stays in the 70's. :) Jane
Could you do Priscilla Presley!?
vamp look from the 20's and 30's it is my favorite because my skin is fair and i love the hair styles as well!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! great job
maybe some historically accurate medieval makeup, please?
+mrsiloveanime Would definitely be interesting, but I'm not sure how smart being totally accurate during certain historical eras - including medieval - would be. There were a lot of things used we now know to be extremely toxic, like lead based powders.

+celeste morton Haha! Yes! I did one a long time ago but it's since been deleted ... :( Maybe an updated version? Thank you for the request!
could you take us to ancient Greece??? I loved the Egyptian look you did and would love to see more ancient cultures represented! :)
Please do a "Gibson Girl" look like Kate Winslet's character of "Rose" from TITANIC.
Please do an 1800s look x
How about a geisha look? Geishas are very interesting, well known for their looks but deep because they required to know about art, literature, theater and music.

Zabrena you're amazing. Love love love the fro 👊🏾
+Bukki Isaacs Haha! Thank you, beautiful! xoxo!
Glad you put the darker lipcolor on. Also, the Farrah Fawcett curls were really big in the disco era, too. Lots of big wavy curls.
How about traveling to the orient? Pick a decade. Thanks!
People might find it problematic since she's white.
Why? Nobody had a problem with her doing Egyptian.
+abirsashee weird people find everything problematic ;(
The film is "Cabaret" not "Cabernet" XD
This look made me feel like you just time traveled from the 70s. You are so stunning

I know that you meant "Cabaret" ~ maybe you were feeling a tad thirsty ~ but that did make me laugh.
forget 1970s I'm wearing this tomorrow!

I would love to see a 1940's Hollywood Red Carpet look 😍😍😍😍
Hey Zabrena! This look is absolutely fabulous!! I am in LOVE with your historically accurate series. It has seriously helped me so much with enjoying makeup art and with feeling adorable. :)

I would love to see an 80's look. I'm an 80's girl and remember those makeup looks fondly.
Me too . . . dancing to Donna Summer . . . yep!
In all honesty this is just my usual party makeup. Purple glittery shadow, big lashes, dark berry lips, big hair.....
im going to be in an upcoming production of les miserables, set in 1823, could you do a makeup tutorial for something like that??
I was a teenager during the 70's and you got it down! If only we had the common sense to blend out our makeup like you did we would not cringe when looking at our old photos. You are so beautiful and creative. Thank you for making my day.
You should do 90s punk rock style~ That would be sooo cool to see the expressive looks of the 90s punk emo scene era
Hi! I love this video! I was wondering if you could do a 1940s WWII era look maybe a pin up one? It was a very interesting time for women and I'd love to see how you would do the makeup for it!!
I always look at you and wish you were on the Hollywood big screen. You totally rock the different looks.
I just found your RUclips channel ... This look 💜 was amazing ~ long live the 1970s 💃🪩🕺
The Liza Minelli film was "Cabaret," although "Cabernet" would probably also be a good movie!
you should do early 2000s emo or Scene look.
Can we get a 80 s , 90s , 2000s , goth make up please ?
80s , 90s , or 2000s goth
Liza Minnelli in "Cabernet" 🤣
I love the look, but I'm still dying over that (innocent) flub
Hallelujah...thiswas my look in the 70s. My husband loved it... so did i...
Some suggestions for videos:
Heian Era Japan
Ancient Rome
Tang Dynasty China, like Fan Bingbing when she played Wu Zetian
"What good is sitting alone in your room? Come have some Cabernet!" hehehe
Maybe you can do different time periods of different cultures. What was a 60s look for someone in Spain or 80s look in Greece. Love these videos!
Disco rocks!
+SandMermaid Yaaaasssss!!
What do you think makeup will look like in the future? That would be an interesting video (:
How wearable was that afro wig? As a white woman I have been trying to find one for decades.
No mention of ABBA?!
Early 2000's goth makeup, the more extreme hime gyaru makeup from Japan, medieval times
I love this 70.s disco look it must have a huge comeback this pandemic when the world is so depressing and very dark beacouse of the pandemic.
Such a fun look!!! I forgot all about this series. Please make more of these videos!
I’m apparently late to the table on this channel, but I think it would be cool if you’d demonstrate the skin care regimen of each era as well!😊
CABARET not Cabarnet. The play not the wine. 🤣
You really did it justice. I remember my make- up back in the day. Thank you for doing this. You look great by the way!
Yep I wore lots of shimmery blue or purple eye shadow, pink blush and shiny lip gloss!
You are looking mighty groovy!!! 😊😘
This look is gorgeous. The Cher look is a wonderful idea. She is an icon of the 60's, 70's, 80's and even of the 90's!!!
My mom told me that in the 70's, my grandma wore baby blue frosted eyeshadow and frosted pink lipstick! Lol
+Fandom Frenzy Love it!
I get bored easily.
you're so much more fun to watch than most "gurus" it's seriously addictive.
More glitter! The 70s was all about the glitter!!
aww, thomasina (idk if I spelled that right)!! What a beauty she was. I love seeing her in the video. it makes me smile. :) pets are so important, even when they have passed. they remind us what unconditional love and loyalty are.
