I bought a mini PC with a core i5 and in a 256 GigaBytes micro SD I have the Visual PinMame, I started adding tables, from the old electromechanical to the most recent Stern, (there are already more than 700 tables). I will always be grateful to the magnificent community that creates fantastic recreations and also to the team that updates and improves Visual PinMame every day.
Hey there. Are you able to get any Future Pinball tables to run on your build? On my tiny pc that I have for my multicade build, it’s hit or miss depending on the VisualPinballX table, but FuturePinball either crashes or no audio.
@@Cargo_Bay Future pinball works well on my PC, maybe you lack some files or libraries in the installation of the program, I only use it for some original tables, the tables recreations I prefer in Visual Pinball 10
Thanks for this well produced video showing the decades of pinball. You did a great job on showing the different views of the tables and such. I liked how you showed the games during a multiball or some other interesting moment instead of just the usual, shoot the ball, flip a few times standard. There were some nice pinball moves in there too!
I have a home made cab and set up over 600 great tables. A HUGE thanks to all the hard work by various programmers who put their heart into it and lots of time. My all time favorite is Monster Bash!!
When you noticed he gets to the Stern machines, that was the end of pinball. Many company's went out of business, including most of the distributors. Software company's stopped selling to the manufactures, and just made there own home systems. This was when video arcades died, you could no longer get the kid out of his bedroom. :(
1. Pinball machines still are popular (though obviously a lot more niche) and still get produced by companies by Stern, Jumpin Jack, Spooky Pinball, etc 2. The main reason why this video stops around 2016 is because that’s when tables started incorporating features that either Visual Pinball X doesn’t support or VP creators can’t easily gain access to, most notably the video screens (You can get video screens working through a third-party app, but if you wanted to recreate a real life table that uses it, you’d have to find a way to extract the video files which is probably easier said than done)

I do have many Williams and Gottlieb pinball machines. I've folded up the older ones, with the exception of Shuttle and PinBot. After William's Pinball and C.A Robinsons distributers went out of business early 1995's. That's when i knew the home systems won the war. It is also the time no more pinball machines were being made by them 2 company's, only Stern was available in our distribution area. They survived by maintaining a certain % of the Arcade market. Now that my hobby is setting up Video poker, and slot machines in Nevada. I noticed 'Scientific Games" Bought Williams and Bally and kept the Williams name for certain Sports book areas and Money return vending machines. So it was cool to see the old logo, being used once again. 2005-2020 was the Arcade time of Crane machines and Carnival prize machines\2-5 seat racing machines machines, this would include Legal and Casino Coin pushing machines. Skeeball was a luxury to have if you saved any or bought some from the past. They cost over 3,000$ to 6,000 per machine now. Which means you have to setup some kind of reward system for them. My comment about the disappearance of the certain pinball machines was based on the Year in the video, which is 100% correct. I couldn't buy anymore, once they stop producing them at that time period. I wasn't going to by third hand buyer costs for pre-owned machines. The same time period of each machines birth date was in this video and it shows very nicely when Williams and Bally's no longer are in the time production. I have one of these VX- pinball programs just like the one in the video, but i have a few more video machines. Each one like this one has a time period on the machine and it also shows when Williams and Bally no longer are in the Time period of Stern. Now i and anyone can still buy Williams machines or Bally's. We will have to pay more... And buying one still in the box brand new, is going to cost you more money to replace every capacitor and cleaning out the Battery rot. These nice machines have been sitting for over 35yrs for some of them. I do miss the 1980's-1997. That was best time to be a kid. The Arcade got the kids out of the house, and now some of the same programmers put them back in the house lol. "home system"

I've only ever played some of these Gottlieb/Stern/Williams tables on The Pinball Arcade and Pinball FX. But there are a bunch of Bally and Data East tables I'd love to play.
For three decades... from late 1940s to late 1970s pinball sounded all the same (the same to me at least). Then for just a couple of years the chimes were replaced by primitive digital sounds, before Gorgar began to speak in 1979 and the wonderful world of pinball evolution exploded.
All of this reminds me of The Pinball Arcade app on my PS VITA and I use to play majority of the games I was able to get before they all got delisted from stores. I would seriously love a re-release of the Pinball Arcade but with all the games included from the start and cost only $30.00.
Visual Pinball X tables are vastly superior to anything Pinball Arcade or Pinball FX has ever done. They aren’t even in the same universe in terms of quality and physics. And they are 100% free

Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed Pinball Arcade at release, because there wasn't much in the videogame console market. Jumping on the VPin bandwagon and installing the VPX recreations on my ALP has been an amazing time!
I'd love to be able to download some pack with all the roms, sounds etc as getting each one by one and trying to install them with trillion of versions is a headache :(

You can also find it when editing the table in the right property bar, in the "visuals" tab there is an option called "ball_image". There you can also change with the different ones you find.
Sí que puedes. Si te das cuenta, en el Visual Pinball, al cargar la mesa tienes dos opciones en el simulador. Si pulsas el botón 'Play' (botón verde), cargas y juegas la mesa. Pero también puedes usar el botón que está al lado, el de la cámara. Con ese botón podrás modificar la cámara y ajustarla a tu gusto.

I skimmed through it, and it is a nice selection, from what I can see. A lot of the tables I'm familiar with have versions I prefer e.g. Lord of the Rings and Batman the Dark Knight, and then some of them, like X-Men, are getting updates soon. There are many great originals such as Blood Machines, Halloween 1987 - 1981, Voodoo's Carnival and IT... maybe you can do a feature on those at some point.
Most of the pinball tables were Full HD, and possibly some were 4K. This video is a compilation of the tables I played in previous years. Today, there are superior versions of these tables available.
Would be so awesome if we had a large fill we could download with every game here, I continue to have a hard time finding games and even getting the program to run them and its not my system fault its mine due to me not know exactly what is what in other words.

Not a big fan of using a flat-screen TV and converting it as a table to create a "digital pinball" machine, i prefer playing these games using TV and a joystick.

What I don’t get is why VPF keeps roms and tables separate. Why not just include the rom in the .zip file with the table?

You just change it in the image manager in VPX. Takes about 5 seconds. Google is your friend

A lot of the tables I'm familiar with have versions I prefer e.g. Lord of the Rings and Batman the Dark Knight, and then some of them, like X-Men, are getting updates soon. There are many great originals such as Blood Machines, Halloween 1987 - 1981, Voodoo's Carnival and IT... maybe you can do a feature on those at some point.

I bet getting the rights to this table would be an absolute nightmare. Beyond just the Williams name.
Would be so awesome if we had a large fill we could download with every game here, I continue to have a hard time finding games and even getting the program to run them and its not my system fault its mine due to me not know exactly what is what in other words.
I have more visual pinball videos, but I have them under maintenance. Little by little I will be adding these videos to the channel, to update the links.
