  • In December 2019, I flew on Air Canada's Airbus A320 from Toronto to Calgary in Business Class! Also, I took a glance at the Air Canada Cafe at Toronto-Pearson!
    Although this is another "ancient" trip report, it being a Business Class flight, it's automatically a bit more interesting and I think the footage still holds up!

    My favourite aircraft is the Aircraft A320. This one is a timeless classic. Amazing catch, and that was the best takeoff I’ve ever heard!

    I recently flew on this plane from Edmonton To Vancouver and I gotta say its a excellent plane, quiet, comfortable seats, and great recline, the one problem I have is the IFE, its quite slow.

    Narrow body domestic is pretty meh, But it's much better than Euro J class. I flew last night domestic on Air Canada 777-300 and that's the way to do it :) The meal service was very good and they had to call the bouncer to get me out of the plane.

    Flying the A320 from Ottawa to Toronto enroute to Orlando in a few days. Super excited to experience flying on such an old aircraft. Gonna be quite the difference to the 787 I’m flying right after that from Toronto to Orlando. Great video as always!

    Being through the Professional Cooking Course at SAIT, one of our instructors told us if we ever get into the Aviation end of cooking for airlines, remember to season it more than you usually do. At 30,000ft plus food tastes totally different that at ground level. That being the case, sorry to hear about the under seasoned food.

    I always try to get on a Wide body aircraft for any of the longer flights, the Business Cass is way better than on the narrow body. YYZ to YYC is probably the limit for a narrow body business class seat for comfort. same on WestJet always look and try to get the 787

    I've been on Air Canada domestic business three times so far, but I've never actually paid extra (two due to only business having fixed aeroplan tickets, and one was e-upgrade), so I wasn't picky about anything and just enjoyed the better service. I also flew on premium economy once on an international flight, but personally, because I can't sleep on planes unless I can lie down, exit row might be better so I have more room for my laptop.

    Those poor A320s...lovely birds but their interiors are well past their sell-by date. The IFE and WiFI are so frustratingly slow, I don't usually even bother anymore. Especially since I've flown a bunch on newer aircraft (MAX/220) so going back to this IFE feels like a rip off.

    These business seats in the 320 and 321 aircraft are pretty bad, in my opinion. You're right that the backs need padding, but they've never had enough to begin with. I'd honestly rather take 12F on an E175 over these for that reason.
    I flew YYZ-SFO some years ago in one of them and it was a very long trip.
    2A is probably the best seat in the pointy end of the A320

  • @nicholasstanton1150
    @nicholasstanton1150 2 года назад

    When reading their 2021 EOY results, I saw that they are still planning to fly the up to 16 A320's this year. Considering the age and out of date cabin, curious to learn when they will eventually retire these old birds? Also really keen to see what they do with the A321's given the older cabins and overall fleet age.

    • @9999AWC
      @9999AWC 2 года назад

      I don't know about the A320s, but AFAIK the A321s aren't slated to be retired anytime soon.

    • @nicholasstanton1150
      @nicholasstanton1150 2 года назад

      @@9999AWC Only thought is that they are holding onto the A320's to help bridge the gap while demand recovers. Once the 737 fleet is fully delivered, they should start to retire the 320's. Also key to note that the A220 deliveries pause in 2023 so I'm curious to see if they look to acquire different aircraft in that year. The A321 fleet is younger (relatively) and if they retrofit the interior and/or bring in NEO's, it would be a great opportunity for growth.

    I just flew yesterday Business Class out of Toronto. The equipment was a 777. Great plane. However the Food was terrible. The hot breakfast was Pancakes with Sausage or an Omlette. Both entres were in my opinions JUST TERRIBLE. THE FROZEN CRIOSONT WAS A ROCK. AC get with the Program and get yr on board service and ur food to a acceptable level.
