At the end it mentions 'Darius III'. Several titles later, but still no 3. Then Taito merges with SquareEnix and it seems the concept of "Darius III" will never be cared for again...
Not only did they make a Franchise out of it... but also episodes, Darius Gaiden is referred to Darius 3 which is the third installment in the Darius series, but it's also episode 3. The 2nd Silver Hawk in Another Chronicle EX is most likely the strongest ship -- viewing playthroughs on RUclips have shown me this -- although just like Origin (Darius I ship) you will need to stay closer to concentrate the fire and bombs on the bosses. All of the forward fire is put on before the last level of red power-ups finally adds the green angled lasers. If I'm not mistaken, [part of] the forward fire absorbs enemy Laser-type fire. I want to play ACEX for this ship, followed by Gaiden and Genesis. [EDIT] Having played ACEX at Otakon this year, my suspicions have been confirmed on 2nd, plus I know all of the mechanics for the ships. Now we await Chronicle Saviours to play it all at home.
This is true. Actually, I would alter my original comment that the Missile-type shots are what get cancelled. However, I have heard and have seen one video which shows that Murakumo in CS is OP as all hell, and its four drones -- that are like Formation Options from Gradius 3 SNES only they are closer together -- put out Laser-type shots that also really wreck bosses and cancel a lot of shots. That said, it may also have some crowd control issues, but not as bad as 2nd has them.
+DJDTHTRP Oh man! As someone who has played CS, Murakumo is so OP. The Four Drones can change shot type so you can change to them and cancel shots, along also changing the direction or spread of them, which also helps with some of the crowd control. Add to that the instant Burst Beam and the explosive charge you can do along it. And it's counter is like Origin's that you just need to aim and shoot the Burst Beam at the boss instead of timing it and you get one really, really OP ship. Fun to use tho!

So hard 2 use 2nd Silver Hawk 4 me... Don't know Y, i think 2nd Silver Hawk is "SUCKS" But the coolest Silver Hawk is Genesis. The burst just like in classic. Works like DBZ's Kamehameha, even though the minus point is it needs to charge for 1 second before it shoots. But if it use for laser beam duel VS bosses laser, it's extremely strong! It can even grow much bigger!
I'm a series veteran, I know the ins and outs of the ships of the previous games in the series, or as we'll refer to them from now on, the non-Burst Engine Silver Hawks. That said, I am going to redact my initial statement after having seen more footage. Gaiden is actually very troublesome because stacked Wave shots are not as powerful as you think they are, and you can ONLY use the Black Hole Bomb on a full Burst meter. Likewise, you can only absorb the drones with Genesis to charge the Alpha Beam when you have both of them (full Burst meter) and present, not in the process of regenerating. In terms of shot output, shots from drones on Genesis (Missile-type) and Gaiden notwithstanding, Second is the most powerful non-Burst Engine Silver Hawk but its big problem, though, is with crowd control concerning large waves of enemies. It is by no means the most powerful Silver Hawk, period. No, that distinction goes to Formula, but this statement needs a qualifier for it. If you look at Steelix100's recent QUZ route run with Formula, you will see why.
I have this on mame, but the problem is that on most bosses i keep hearing that explosion sound and it sounds worse than it in this video. is it supposed to do that or is it the emulator's fault?
