In this episode, the Old West becomes the New, New West. It's Colorado, folks, and it's full of tech at the frontier. When you have lots of land and lots of smart, freedom-loving people, you can do loud and explosive things. As always, hope you enjoy!
I'm a father, I'm in law enforcement and I own a lot of guns. The best way to make guns safe is by taking the mystery out of them and teaching your children firearms safety. Since my kids were little, they've been around firearms. They've shot them, theyve cleaned them... they're very familiar with them. I've taken the curiosity out of them. I do lock my weapons up, but I could leave my gun on the kitchen table and I guarantee my kids wouldn't touch it. They know that a gun shall not be touched without my supervision. If they find a gun, they are to let a responsible adult know immediately. If you own guns, educate your children.
I have never watched Ashlee document anything but it is really reminding me of some of Anthony Bourdain’s work on “Parts unknown”! Really enjoyed the video
These baloons could be game-changers in combatting illegal mining and logging in the rainforest, illegal fishing in marine parks and so on. Very exciting!
There's something profoundly insane about the US mindset regarding guns that a guy who lives down the street from a mass shooting would decide that coming up with a better gun was the solution to gun violence.
let`s test if the guy actually created futuristic smart gun or just a flashy toy: did he adressed the all the less fun ,but neccesery factors of the gun? durability, human factor when you do something not by a textbook by whatever reasons, and doing things by textbook or instructions goes stright out of window the sec randomness of self defense situation kicks in and emotions goes high, how much maintnence flaws can a gun take and still work properly? anyone who is not hardcore gun freak ain`t gonna give textbook maintence to the gun realisticly speaking, what if gun gets dirty or not cleaned properly at all? how much the probability of random malfunctions got increased by adding extra stuff on the gun cuzz by default the more details a thing has the more likely it is randomly break cuzz there is more things that now can break lol... did not heard anything about any of the stuff i mentioned so i assume that the guy cared only about ``fun part`` of the making a gun...lol rational alternative over buying that probably overpriced as heck gun would be buy a safe and mount it to the wall lol...the safe by default will protect the gun from someone else taking it and using it and you can take out gun in much less then a min and you would not have to be worried about randomly forgetting to charge the gun lol
What happens if a bio gun right there’s a shooting happening and the owner of that gun gets shot and another gun owner that does not have his gun on them decides to pick it up and try to shoot the guy that shooting innocent people, so how does that work then? How does that work of protecting someone or protecting a family because like let’s say if the father is downand the mother is down and then the 16-year-old kid that knows the guns was not registered to it but is going to get hurt in that situation picks up the gun and it doesn’t work. How does that work then?
I love the idea I would want one of these but what I would be worried abt is reliability bc even if it’s 1/100 1/1000 or 1/100000 I don’t want to worry about the gun not firing because its dark or finger print won’t work I guess that’s arguable but until it’s very accurate and reliable I would just keep guns in a safe and if I was worried about my family around guns i would believe I’ve been a bad father and turn to other options than firearms that are concealed from family
More guns to a new market, market of people who don't want guns in the house because of safety. But want to protect their family, by bringing in guns into the house. "Guns and save lives" in the same sentence 😢. Amazing... Insanity!
The "Smart Gun" is a blessing and a curse, for example if law enforcement had such weapons, and one was shot the weapon can't be used by any other officer.
Less than 1 minute… will never sell to military contracts were the $$ is at. Will never sell to normal home defense owners. Maybe in 10-20 years when tech is smaller and perfected
Will it prevent bad guys from buying guns without biometic validation? I would guess law enforcement, the miliary and private security contractors might be the main target audience. Just so they can be held accountable or they would claim they could be due to having these. A family father with a gun, can still become the culprit, murdering his wife in a domestic dispute, his whole family or just himself while anyone else wrestling the weapon from him could not use it to defend themselves. So you go dads.
Ursa major is selling a small engine for a million dollars but Spacex is building a raptor engine for around the same lol. Also everything in a rocket revolves around your engine so building your own is much better its why spacex is destroying Ula. Also Spacex tests its engines in McGregor texas.
I hear someone breaking in my front door, give me the gun and I'll go check it out. Wait, it needs to update apparently. Ok, I'm sure I have time for a fast update but first I need my cell phone to login to the app but forgot my login. Ok, no big deal. I'll just reset my password. Shouldn't take long....
There is like zero actual innovation in that gun, even the fingerprint sensor is very outdated. Smart guns are hard because reliable, biometric authentication is a hard problem to solve.
I don't hate the baloon concept. At least they come down eventually in comparison to satelites that are said to increase colition likelyhood with any of their parts getting lost or just when something colides with them therefor polluting the area for a long time and making shooting anything into space dangerous. With all these systems i though, cramping up everything above us, they take away some freedom from us too, the freedom to see an empty clear sky.
Nothing was invented in this video. Why would they say Inventors? Bringing existing technology together is not inventing. When you try to front because you have money but No integrity 😂 Inventors 😂

I love Ashlee's reaction to the rocket engine. Pure child like joy.

I've only been to Colorado a couple times and I've been to that restaurant and that skate park on separate trips hahah
An EMP would make that gun useless if it has a computer
Thankful for this beautiful state
Ashlee Vance is a legend

OK Now I wanna visit Denver Colorado

Awesome content!
The gun looks a bit like the Dominator II from Psycho Pass
I left Colorado, but don't miss it.
SO NICE.
THERE IS A SENTIMENTAL TOUCH TO IT.
ASH,
I LOVED YOU AND YOUR WORK
SO REFRESHING
I LOVED IT.
THANK YOU
So for the first one do you have to keep it charged?

I think that this is a very genius way of dealing with gun safety but there are definitely plenty of flaws that need to be buffed out
Unity from Cyberpunk 2077, sheesh
I want one
So Brilliant' Thank You!🌐🕊️
As long as it's not forced to own, it's perfect.
Amazing vid
How can we do something about mass shootings?
America: More guns, but smart.
There are a lot of countries with guns but no mass shootings. Mass shootings are a culture and mentality problem.
Looks like there's some inspiration from the DOMINATOR the gun used in PSYCHO PASS.
Bio fire might have been smart to mention the speed of recognition or draw to fire.
Excellent. Again.
sir i want to work in bloomberg what do i do to get in
Sell your soul to Moloch.
So bri woke up one day started playing titanfall and then decided to make the smart pistol irl lol

you can also decide on to not bringing guns to the consumer market
What if you get there fingerprints and a picture of there face?
Finally back, been years
those poor houses
why cant we just add a mechanical password lock instead ?
I forgot to charge my gun 😟😟
3:00 he speak so fast, I checked my playback speed

💯💯
Smart gun is a cool concept. It's going to be popular in cities like NYC, LA, and Chicago with anti-gun liberals.
Does the fingerprint still work if your hands are dirty?
Very interesting
A small electromagnetic pulse could disable an electronic reliant weapon.
Faraday that cage!
The Buckhorn is pretty awesome….lol
One start-up does not a economy make. Only one start-up, and nothing else.

" I was fortunate enough not have to think about gun violence and deaths" what the fu** bro?
World says hi .
Give me a workshop, and a few minutes, I'll have that "smart gun" working as a proper gun in no time.
cool

Not to be confused with BiofireDX
He was inspired by a mass shooting to invent… a gun. Should be called Irony Arms.
Will it prevent bad guys from buying guns without biometic validation?

7:37 the claim that firearns are the leading cause of deaths if children is a bold faced lie.
Please Who is this Gwen Irene and how does he trade , please am interested in getting to know how it all works !!
In Czechia, we don't need guns unless you want to shoot a pickpocket or corrupt politician. I guess I am kinda lucky.
That's because you don't have the CIA or blacks.
who tf is ashlee

What about every company that's not Spacex? How's ULA doing with their costs?

❤
James Bond style?
More like Judge Dread style.
Wear a mask, helmet, balaclava, sunglasses, and that gun is a paper weight.
If you have an issue with not being able to fire the gun wearing a ski mask, I have to wonder what you are planning to do with it :D
judge dredd 1995 Wants his gun back
*puts gun down with finger still on the trigger
I don't think it actually was

imagin all cops haveing this. makes them feel safe and if somone goes for ther gun it will not work lol.
sorry after 1.5 minutes....I just could'nt take the style of this presentation
Another guy that lies with numbers
geeks and freaks
Any dad who thinks "having a gun in the home will turn more dangerous than not" is not real intelligent.
Might wanna check your statistics there, chief
Cretins...
Punching holes in the atmosphere is the worst thing for the environment.
Though why would you want a gun that protects you from yourself
Nothing was invented in this video. Why would they say Inventors? Bringing existing technology together is not inventing. When you try to front because you have money but No integrity 😂 Inventors 😂
Biofire and its founder 👎
