Hey Nick, Love the video! But just a quick heads up. The '11+ 5.0l cars have a 1:1 5th gear unlike the previous mustangs where most were 1:1 4th gears. It is best if the car is dyno'd in 5th. It will also result in slightly increased horsepower figures over 4th.
Thanks, when I had it dyno'd I just trusted the shop knew the correct gear to run it. I looked into it afterwards and found out about 5th being 1:1, which is why I make it a point to note the pull was done in 4th gear... Probably was best they did it in 4th though as the stock driveshaft was still in the car at the time. Might have a 5th gear pull done this summer now that I have a Shaftmasters aluminum shaft in there. Thanks!
I’m currently at 115k miles in my 2015 5.0 auto. All hard miles driven myself with full bolt ons. No problems at all, Recently ordered vmp stage 2 gen2r on Black Friday. Shooting for 600-660whp. How loud is the whine in the cabin on a scale 1-10
For some reason when i went to check my oil today, last couple inches of dipstick does not go in smoothly. It felt like something metal was in the way and rubbing against it, have to force it alittle in order to seat the dipstick.
Hi Nick, I like your set up. Does your VMP give the supercharger whine? I hear the Roush doesn't but the VMP does. You did a good job on your ride bro.
+Danny D Yes it does give the supercharger whine, but pretty much only at Wide Open Throttle. I'm pretty sure the reason the VMP whines louder than the Roush is because of the larger diameter intake tube and open filter, as opposed to the closed airbox with the Roush setup. If you're considering between the two kits the VMP is a much better value, and more powerful! Thanks for watching!
Juan Jimenez Its not that it was difficult, it was just time consuming. it was one of the things I was worried about with the install too, but after I was done, it wasn't that big of a deal. Just take your time and make sure you cover everything good, because the aluminum dust wants to go everywhere!!
Dylan Whisnant Everything is still great with the car. It is my daily in the summer, but I only live 3 miles from work, so I'm only at around 4500 miles with the supercharger, 7000 total on the car. Driving it as I do on the street, I'm not worried at all about blowing the engine. I have to really be heavy on the throttle before it ever even makes any boost....
I think im getting around 14 which is pretty much just city driving and not trying for good mileage. Freeway trips i think I can squeeze out over 20mpg....
I did have step by step instructions from this link.... vmp-tvs.com/justin/instructions/VMP-5L%20TVS%20Kit%20Revised%209-13.pdf But It doesn't seem to work anymore. I'd just email VMP, they probably have an updated link.
Goof for you Nick, sure this beast is so much fun to drive.
+Scotty N Thanks! Yeah, its a blast!

Great video Nick! I love your 5.0 as well of course! I'll give your video a like, and then I'll subscribe after this comment.
IrishChris1979 Thanks! I only wish I took better pictures, and more of them, during the install...

Nick Zimmer Yeah, everyone on the Mustang Forum says the VMP is better and makes more power, tnx for replying,
its the same sc vmp and roush just different name what makes vmp different is the vmp tune
Cool video, how's that car been holding up?
Blake Muller car has held up just fine. It's hard to really beat on it to hard though in the city lol
Hey nick, how difficult was cutting the engine cover?
Juan Jimenez Its not that it was difficult, it was just time consuming. it was one of the things I was worried about with the install too, but after I was done, it wasn't that big of a deal. Who makes the lower, or what was the part number on the lower inlet manifold?
Bobby Kogel The VMP kit is mostly Roush made parts so I assume Roush makes the lower manifold. Don't have a part number though....
Is everything still going well with the car? Is It your daily? I was just concerned on how long the stock engine would last with that kind of power

@@nickzimmer8268 HEY BRO HOWS THE CAR STILL LIKE NEW? I WANT TO ISNTALL THIS VMP BUT NOT SURE IF IT WILL LAST AJAJA
Car has about 20k miles on it, about 17k with supercharger... Still goin strong...
How long did it take you to install the vmp supercharger kit
Matthew Drake maybe like a week working on it 2-3 hours s night...
Why did you get the gen1 when the gen 2 was out?
wchae2 When I bought it the Gen2 was not out.....
How are you liking it so far
I'm loving it! Around town drives just like stock, but hammer on it and it pulls hard!
1:50 so wait it gets 2 coolant tanks now ?
Yes. The supercharger system with the heat exchangers and pump use their own separate coolant from the engine coolant...
what are you getting mpg wise with normal and spirited driving?
I think im getting around 14 which is pretty much just city driving and not trying for good mileage. Freeway trips i think I can squeeze out over 20mpg....
any heat soak issues with back to back wide open throttle pulls or hot 90 degree daily driver?
Im not really sure, theres just not much space around here for WOT runs with this much power and trying to not break any laws, lol
thats same anywhere, we just pretend were in mexico
Did you have step by step instructions
I did have step by step instructions from this link....
