There are time when every few decades a genius vocalist is born that stands above the rest, Diana is above that she does not only pulls ahead of her peers she is a completely new phenomenon that changes the way you listen to music it self, she is not "one of", she is "The one".

As others have written, I also suggest Diana's performance of Rechenka at the age of 14. Same show, but a year earlier. IMHO, folk genre, she's at her best. Her ability to convey emotions towards an audience is special. Her stage presence, acting abilities, and her vocals are just stunning.........she creates a world that envalopes you as a listener. Isn't that the definition of performance art? Diana is an artist and a performer...........

Igor later bought an apartment in Moscow for her forever family and secured a spot at university for Diana to continue her musical studies and vocal training.

It’s sang in Russian so you might find the English lyrics so you can understand. She has another song Daniere Danse (I know I killed the spelling which sang in French. She's amazing. I've been enamoured with her voice and personna for half a decade now. She's an equally decent, humble human as she is a spectacular talent. Diana has a mystical, magical and quite mesmerizing quality to her voice. Diana just turned 21 years old May 31st...a few days ago.

I'm sure it's already been recommended but the next song for you to react to for the greatest impact of the beginning of your journey would be from the same TV show and the name of the song is. Rechenka. Once you listen to this then you will totally understand and that's just the beginning I would like to suggest that you go and do a little bit of background research she has several interviews and several documentaries into her past she has an amazing backstory and it will give you a full understanding of why she is so compassionate about her performances and as you can see we all love her thanks for watching

Her polyphonic overtones make it sound like autotune, when it is all her. Her contralto is next level mezmerizing. She has trained very hard from such an abysmal start to life. You have to cheer for this young triumphant young lady.

It’s that last line that seals it for me. She goes from the depths right to a light whisper. And blending lots of colors and shades of her voice into the whole performance.
Greetings from Scotland! I agree! Ridiculous talent, Impossible vocals, Phenomenal power, well, you get the idea! Even after 8 years of following this incredibly talented young lady, this song (and many others) still gives me wild goosebumps! Her voice and her songs just never get boring! Diana was singing in an amazing Russian project "You're Super" for abandoned/disadvantaged children because Diana spent some years in an orphanage when she was 3yo. She did 2 seasons in this project and a "Super season" plus a guest spot or two in the following years.

They don't turn around on this show - it is a Russian show for young people who have been abused or parentless. They do not start off with their back turned to these young people - you see it; they just punch a button. She won this and at least two other competitions easily. Yeah - she has had a lot of training - she was singing light opera in Russia when she was 12.

To answer a very basic question, yes, this is her real voice; Diana Ankudinova is a true Contralto, which is a very rare female voice type. First a little background, Diana Ankudinova was born on May 31, 2003, and was 15 years old for this performance of “Wicked Game” during a vocal competition that Diana took part in called “You Are Super”. This competition took place on May 12, 2019, it was During this performance that some reactors were saying it sounded like Diana was using Auto-Tune or pitch correction during her performance, or some other kind of artificial vocal manipulation.
The general consensus of many other reactors who are real professional recording sound engineers, and actual vocal professionals, not just reactors, and all said no. NO auto-tune was added or used, and no other form of electronic voice manipulation was used. What many do not know is this, Diana Ankudinova has studied, mastered, and uses a vocal technique known as polyphonic singing and a singer that has mastered this technique can create an additional tone, not additional notes, but a tone which can add to the harmonic overtones and under tone and can makes it sound an octave above and sometimes an octave and ½ above, and she can access an enormous amount of resonance. This is a testimonial to the time, exceptional talent, and dedication Diana has put into her career at such a young age.
This performance was her second appearance on the “You Are Super”, vocal competition. The 2019 season of the show was called the “You Are Super Super-Season”, and consisted of winners and finalists from previous seasons. As the 2018 “You Are Super” winner, Diana Ankudinova was invited back to compete in the Super-Season. She ended up also winning this 2019 “You Are Super Super-Season”.
As an aside, in 2017 when Diana was 13, her vocal range was first measured from a low of D3 (lower alto range) to a high of A5 (upper alto range), which is unusually low for a 13 year old girl. Diana did not have her vocal range measured again until she was 18 years old on September 25, 2021 during her “ShowMaskGoOn!” competition performance of “Can’t Help Falling In Love” where her vocal range was again measured and Diana’s functional vocal range in 2021 was measured from a low of C3 (male Tenor range) to a high of B♭5, (female Mezzo Soprano range).
In 2018, when she first appeared on the “You Are Super” vocal competition Diana performed the Russian folk song “Rechenka” in her native Russian language. It was during this 2018 performance of “Rechenka” that many voice professionals started paying very close attention to Diana Ankudinova because she was displaying such a low, round, rich, deep, resonant sound, with a tone and timbre in her voice that had a maturity, way beyond her years, plus she was a real stage animal, Diana is fearless on stage.
Many true vocal professionals were saying Diana Ankudinova’s performance of “Rechenka” was displaying all the hallmarks of her becoming a true contralto voice type, plus her musicality and stage presence was well beyond the vast majority of other 14 year old girls. At the beginning of Diana's Rechenka performance, some were saying Diana looked scared, or nervous. Watch her face, and her body movements, as she submerges herself into this character. It was no surprise when Diana was declared the 2018 “You Are Super” winner, but no one was prepared for the following year in 2019 for the sound she exhibited during her performance of “Wicked Game” that won her the 2019 “You Are Super” Super-Season competition! Her composer is the same one who works with Dimash- Igor Krutoy. She is simply one of the greatest singers in the world today. By reacting to her songs is a real treat. My first impression (never heard of her before tonight) - weird: like listening while submerged in a bathtub. Or like the time that I jerked my head when a nurse came up behind me in hospital and unexpectedly stuck a thermometer in my ear. I was totally deaf in one ear for several days and discovered that eating crisps, pork scratchings, etc., could be quite amusing, like eating small, boingy springs (don't bother trying it though).
