    I think I'd have to agree with your original statement Heidi...the 3 summerific hibiscus I bought from your garden center bloom from the top of the plant all the way down to the red clay soil they're planted in. 🌺☀️Every single year w/o fail. There's absolutely no need to under-plant this variety with annuals. Thanks for keeping us updated with the new releases each year!

    This is maybe the best year for new introductions I've seen in years! Question... If I order the watermelon and cookies N cream hibiscus online, will I be guaranteed a spot since they probably will go fast? I have a feeling you're going to get lots of my money this year, lol.

    • @gardencrossings
      @gardencrossings  7 месяцев назад +2

      Yes if you preorder you will have it reserved for you.

    Heidi, those plants look very pretty, but "deer resistant" as I have heard you say, " doesn't mean deer proof" (I see how the deer eat your plants)🦌😡 I have a MAJOR anger issue with the deer! Not only do they eat my hostas etc, but they have the audacity to almost come into my carport! And besides THAT, they come in my backyard & front yard all the time and make my Yorkie so mad that he runs all over the house & tore his ACL and had to have surgery 💰 and is sitting here looking at me to take the " cone" off of him.He gets the stitches out Monday!! I love the flowers I have bought from you, but I think my "flower " budget may go to a hunting rifle 😡🤬 (kidding) not kidding! With love from Georgia ❤

      @gardencrossings  7 месяцев назад +1

      Yes deer resistant does not mean deer proof. I would never say anything is deer proof. They surprise me all the time with what they choose to eat or not eat.

    Do you pinch your cookies and cream back in spring to get more flowers?

    • @gardencrossings
      @gardencrossings  7 месяцев назад

      No we do not. You shouldn't have to do that.

    If I’m not mistaken I’ve heard you mention that annuals should be fertilized once a week. Do these perennials need to be fertilized once a week as well?

    • @gardencrossings
      @gardencrossings  7 месяцев назад

      You are right about feeding annuals weekly. Perennials we usually recommend feeding in the spring when they are emerging and in early fall.

    I got a princess Kate clematis last year, what’s the pruning requirements for it? Mine didn’t seem to do very well last year but hoping now that it’s been in the ground almost a year it’ll take off better

    • @gardencrossings
      @gardencrossings  7 месяцев назад

      I usually just leave them as is. In the spring I look for where the growth is coming from and trim out any 'dead ' growth.
