In the recent years people have tried changing, twisting, misinterpreting and reinterpreting Gods word. But that will ultimately never change his judgment or ways. Our hearts are at many times deceitful and that is why we must trust God and not lean with our own understanding. I am also not here to judge you but to remind you that He will sooner or later judge you based off of your actions and believes. God wants you to follow him and his ways. I am currently single. But recently about a few months ago me and this boy that goes to my church, he happens to be the pastors son, I noticed that I was starting to see him in a different way. And at the moment I thought I was crazy but I felt like God was telling me that that’s who I’m going to marry or that that’s who he wants me to marry. And I thought that for a few months and I prayed and prayed about it and ask God to take those thoughts away if it wasn’t for his glory or it wasn’t what he wanted for me. And one day I went to go visit my mom because I currently live with my dad and she said she wanted to talk to me about something. Mind you, I’ve never ever ever mentioned this boy to my mom. And for a long time I was praying to God to show me and sign if he really is the one for me. And my mom wanted to have a talk with me and she said the following “I don’t know if I’m crazy or if this is all in my head but I feel like God really, really wants me to tell you this. I think that you and the pastors son are meant to be more then just friends. I think that you guys will do extraordinarily things for the lord and he wants you to know that.” At the moment I was so shook and I started to cry. I was so overwhelmed with emotions because the thought I have been having taht I thought were from God but I wasn’t sure so I just kept denying it, it ended up being true. And once I got back home he said that he urgently needed to talk to me about something. And he said the following “I know this is going to sound crazy, and I know that this is completely out of the blue. But I truly feel that this is what God is telling me. I think that God wants us to be more then friends. Maybe husband and wife one day.” And at that moment I started to cry and cry. He said that he have been praying about it for about 5 months and the answer has never seemed so clear. And I have been praying about it for about the same amount of time. We talk about things and for now we are just friends. We are both very very young, he is 17 and I am 16. And for now we want to focus on God and have God be the main focus of our life. Because we don’t want to have to be in a committed relationship at such a young age. We want our relationship with the lord to be as solid as can be before we decide to go further into our relationship. This dating video really helped me see some views on what I should work on and what I should consider once me and this guy start dating. During teenage years, I felt so wrong and weird, I wasn't able to find a guy that I liked who liked me back. And all those rejections were God's protection! I’m 18, and I’m not a virgin. I thought that I owed my boyfriend (now my ex) sex, and I was too scared to have that conversation with him. I want the next time I have sex to be on my wedding night, and if a man doesn’t understand that, then he’s not the right man. If any young woman or man out there is reading this and feels like their SO is pressuring them to have sex (or even be intimate in any way), please know that you deserve better than that. I am now dating a friend who said that he loved me since yr 2 and when I left the school in yr4 he thought he'd never see me again because I moved so far away. When I came back last year he was so happy and confessed that he liked me. I'd never dated anyone (or even had a crush) before him so I was waiting to see if I liked him, we started dating this year. Last summer I was talking to a guy and though I pretty quickly realized it wasn’t going to work, I really appreciated that he initiated clarity! That is great you know this at 18! At that age I learned to not rush into a relationship (even a Godly one). It is important to first seek God about a person who is interested in you. And meanwhile you can seek God on his plan for your future. He will make it known to you. God's plans are best and his timing is perfect. I too am single (22 yrs & almost single a decade lol) but I now know God will give me a husband someday.

Guys I really loved this. I have lived a lustful past and 100% it was harder to cut off the attachment if we had already been intimate. I found myself staying even when I felt like the person was so wrong for me. God intended for us to have sex but within marriage because that soul tie is so hard to break. He doesn't want us to feel that pain. What a Great God we serve. And also thank yall for being the light on social media.
Finding the right person it’s not always going to look simple, sometimes it takes you getting out of your comfort zone and asking God to give you the wisdom and discernment to choose the right person, and to give you the confidence to open up and meet people because you never know what God has in store but you can’t don’t want a put pressure so much on yourself, just stay true who you are and the right person will see that

Now after hardships (breaking hearts) and much prayer I know God's plans for me. Keep praying about your future God will show you his will and plans.
Sometimes God can cover the eyes of the ones who aren't for you, because you're too special to ruin what He has in mind for you. He makes you invisible until the right person comes, I've seen it so many times! Just stay calm, keep moving forward in life and when the time comes, your paths will cross.

I read in a book (Defining Decade by Meg Jay--10/10 recommend!!) that couples think that living together is a good way to test whether they'd work out as a married couple (seems logical). However, studies have shown that it is actually not a good way to test this because of what psychologist call the sliding effect. Most couples live together because they had already been sleeping over at each other's places so it would be more convenient to just live together. They just casually decide to live together; there's no serious commitment involved. People always rationalize that if they wanted to get out of the current situation, it would be easy because they're not married to the other person. (This is also flawed thinking. Obviously, moving out is much easier than getting divorced, but moving out is still much more difficult than just breaking up with someone.) Because couples *slide* into a situation that requires commitment without the actual commitment, they are more likely to drag their feet in getting married or they might *slide* into getting married without thinking of how much of a commitment it is. Don't quote me on this because I don't have the book in front of me. You can google "the sliding effect" for more informed information, though.
I highly recommend that book! Made a lasting impact on me. Especially that part!! Most couple who cohabitate prior to marriage don’t get married or get divorced at a higher rate.
This method is something I never understood. I could never do this, I've seen how bad it can get from living with housemates that are couples. It just doesn't work!!

I also made it clear that I am saving myself for marriage and he respects that. I think what we may be struggling with is patience. Our relationship has developed fast in just a couple weeks. We already know that a forever is possible for with us as long as we put God always first. But, we are both still young, and I think although we seem to be focusing on our goal we may need to focus more on the process of getting there. It’s nice dreaming about our future together but I’m realizing that we should take a step back and ask, “okay, this is what we want. How will we achieve it?” Idk. But this was a nice reflection about my dating life rn. I really enjoyed the advice thank you so much❤️❤️ I look up to guys and you guys inspire me to have a relationship similar to you guys. Sorry, this is such a long comment. I have always believed that marriage is between one man and one woman. A few years ago God started to go deeper or undo what I had always heard growing up. Matthew 19:9, "I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, and marries another woman commits adultery." The number of times I have heard pastors say "except for adultery". It does not say that. It says, "except for sexual immorality." 1 Corinthians 6:16, "Do you not know that he who unites himself with a prostitute is one with her in body? For it is said, 'The two will become one flesh." 1 Corithians 7:11, "But if she does, she must remain unmarried or else be reconciled to her husband. And a husband must not divorce his wife." It says to reconcile, not remarriage. I was listening to American Family Radio a couple of years ago and they had a sermon playing. I was able to catch this part, "Baptism is the wedding ring to the Christian life. It doesn’t make you saved. So to put on a wedding ring when you’re not Married, it doesn’t mean anything. You wear a wedding ring to show that you are Married. It doesn’t make you Married. Baptism does not save you. Baptism lets the world know that you are saved, that you belong to Jesus Christ.” - Pastor Jeff Schreve Can you imagine what The Church would be like, would look like if we stopped using society's defintion of marriage and started using God's? I think in high school I knew that this was inside of me, but I didn't know it or had the words to it until after, but I actually detest casual dating. It's purposeless and it just seems selfish. I cannot stress enough how important it is to pray about relationships. Pray before, pray during, pray about marriage. Make sure you are receiving confirmations from God. People will lie and tell you what you want to hear. One of my best friends in high school told me a story that her "boyfriend" in jr high had lied to her about being a Christian. I don't know how she found out that he wasn't. And in a time where the verse "judge not lest you be judged" is so misused, you cannot go wrong with praying.

Check out Dietrich Bonhoeffer’s wedding sermon. He’s famous for one that he wrote while imprisoned by the Nazis.. That “not wanting to text” mood though... It’s not exactly wrong. I’m more of a phone call kind of guy. I barely text my Mom. It’s also important to give grace to people and stick around long enough to get to actually know them. The most important, is that marriage is a commitment; One of the the biggest commitments one can make. And it’s nobody’s decision to make but your own. I’m of the mind that expecting God to give you a wife on a silver platter, and do the heavy lifting for you is not exactly correct. And our Christian dating culture is full of talk about it. I would expect that God, having sacrificed his only Son, would prefer us to learn what it’s truly like to lay down our lives for another person and commit to them, despite our own fear and misgivings. Just because something doesn’t “feel right” at any given moment doesn’t mean it’s wrong. As someone that’s looking towards marriage, I can tell you that not everything is rainbows and unicorns: I’m excited, but there have also been moments of anxiety, and I think that’s pretty natural. Imagine being a woman, and being given over to a complete stranger by your father 🙄 Choosing a husband or wife today is tame compared to how it used to be.

I understood she meant the goal is marriage, and it is a good thing to get married. When you‘re confident that the person you are with is “the one,” don’t put it off (putting it off will probably be harder and more tempting.) But don’t be rash and naive in making that decision, so take the time you need to make the decision to get married. I hope I got my point across. I’m sorry for the long paragraph.🙂
Dating is "fun" as Sutton says, when you're under age 31. After that, dating is a whole other story. Many people have one marriage under their belt, and may have kids. Plus singles over age 30 tend to be more jaded due the hurdles life throws at them. If you leave it much past 30, you also have to contend with people who are more set in their ways. Plus the Christian single "weirdness" factor is higher if people are over 30. You may have to go through a lot of weird people to find a mate.
I think nowadays it's hard to find a mate even under age of 30. Try to join some christian group, start a hobby, be around people (yeah I know it's hard during covid). You'r not alone, many girls are in the same situation :)

While many struggle with addiction, lies, hatred, disobeying parents etc. Others struggle sexually. Dating an object is not Gods way or nature. In the recent years people have tried changing, twisting, misinterpreting and reinterpreting Gods word. But that will ultimately never change his judgment or ways. Our hearts are at many times deceitful and that is why we must trust God and not lean with our own understanding. I am also not here to judge you but to remind you that He will sooner or later judge you based off of your actions and believes. God wants you to follow him and his ways. Having lustful fantasies with an object is not what He has planned for you
I am currently single. But recently about a few months ago me and this boy that goes to my church, he happens to be the pastors son, I noticed that I was starting to see him in a different way. And at the moment I thought I was crazy but I felt like God was telling me that that’s who I’m going to marry or that that’s who he wants me to marry. And I thought that for a few months and I prayed and prayed about it and ask God to take those thoughts away if it wasn’t for his glory or it wasn’t what he wanted for me. And one day I went to go visit my mom because I currently live with my dad and she said she wanted to talk to me about something. Mind you, I’ve never ever ever mentioned this boy to my mom. And for a long time I was praying to God to show me and sign if he really is the one for me. And my mom wanted to have a talk with me and she said the following “I don’t know if I’m crazy or if this is all in my head but I feel like God really, really wants me to tell you this. I think that you and the pastors son are meant to be more then just friends. I think that you guys will do extraordinarily things for the lord and he wants you to know that.” At the moment I was so shook and I started to cry. I was so overwhelmed with emotions because the thought I have been having taht I thought were from God but I wasn’t sure so I just kept denying it, it ended up being true. And once I got back home he said that he urgently needed to talk to me about something. And he said the following “I know this is going to sound crazy, and I know that this is completely out of the blue. But I truly feel that this is what God is telling me. I think that God wants us to be more then friends. Maybe husband and wife one day.” And at that moment I started to cry and cry. He said that he have been praying about it for about 5 months and the answer has never seemed so clear. And I have been praying about it for about the same amount of time. We talk about things and for now we are just friends. We are both very very young, he is 17 and I am 16. And for now we want to focus on God and have God be the main focus of our life. Because we don’t want to have to be in a committed relationship at such a young age. We want our relationship with the lord to be as solid as can be before we decide to go further into our relationship. This dating video really helped me see some views on what I should work on and what I should consider once me and this guy start dating. So thank you so much for this video and so sorry for the long story.

That is great you know this at 18! At that age I learned to not rush into a relationship (even a Godly one). It is important to first seek God about a person who is interested in you. And meanwhile you can seek God on his plan for your future. He will make it known to you. God's plans are best and his timing is perfect. I too am single (22 yrs & almost single a decade lol) but I now know God will give me a husband someday.

I read in a book (Defining Decade by Meg Jay--10/10 recommend!!) that couples think that living together is a good way to test whether they'd work out as a married couple (seems logical). However, studies have shown that it is actually not a good way to test this because of what psychologist call the sliding effect. Most couples live together because they had already been sleeping over at each other's places so it would be more convenient to just live together. They just casually decide to live together; there's no serious commitment involved. People always rationalize that if they wanted to get out of the current situation, it would be easy because they're not married to the other person. (This is also flawed thinking. Obviously, moving out is much easier than getting divorced, but moving out is still much more difficult than just breaking up with someone.) Because couples *slide* into a situation that requires commitment without the actual commitment, they are more likely to drag their feet in getting married or they might *slide* into getting married without thinking of how much of a commitment it is. Don't quote me on this because I don't have the book in front of me. You can google "the sliding effect" for more informed information, though.

I also made it clear that I am saving myself for marriage and he respects that. I think what we may be struggling with is patience. Our relationship has developed fast in just a couple weeks. We already know that a forever is possible for with us as long as we put God always first. But, we are both still young, and I think although we seem to be focusing on our goal we may need to focus more on the process of getting there. I have always believed that marriage is between one man and one woman. A few years ago God started to go deeper or undo what I had always heard growing up.
Matthew 19:9, "I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, and marries another woman commits adultery." The number of times I have heard pastors say "except for adultery". It does not say that. It says, "except for sexual immorality."
1 Corinthians 6:16, "Do you not know that he who unites himself with a prostitute is one with her in body? For it is said, 'The two will become one flesh."
1 Corithians 7:11, "But if she does, she must remain unmarried or else be reconciled to her husband. And a husband must not divorce his wife." It says to reconcile, not remarriage.
I was listening to American Family Radio a couple of years ago and they had a sermon playing. I was able to catch this part, "Baptism is the wedding ring to the Christian life. It doesn’t make you saved. So to put on a wedding ring when you’re not Married, it doesn’t mean anything. You wear a wedding ring to show that you are Married. It doesn’t make you Married. Baptism does not save you. Baptism lets the world know that you are saved, that you belong to Jesus Christ.” - Pastor Jeff Schreve

I think in high school I knew that this was inside of me, but I didn't know it or had the words to it until after, but I actually detest casual dating. It's purposeless and it just seems selfish.
I cannot stress enough how important it is to pray about relationships. Pray before, pray during, pray about marriage. Make sure you are receiving confirmations from God. People will lie and tell you what you want to hear. One of my best friends in high school told me a story that her "boyfriend" in jr high had lied to her about being a Christian. I don't know how she found out that he wasn't.
And in a time where the verse "judge not lest you be judged" is so misused, you cannot go wrong with praying.

Check out Dietrich Bonhoeffer’s wedding sermon. He’s famous for one that he wrote while imprisoned by the Nazis.. That “not wanting to text” mood though... It’s not exactly wrong. I’m more of a phone call kind of guy. I barely text my Mom. It’s also important to give grace to people and stick around long enough to get to actually know them. The most important, is that marriage is a commitment; One of the the biggest commitments one can make. And it’s nobody’s decision to make but your own. I’m of the mind that expecting God to give you a wife on a silver platter, and do the heavy lifting for you is not exactly correct. And our Christian dating culture is full of talk about it. I would expect that God, having sacrificed his only Son, would prefer us to learn what it’s truly like to lay down our lives for another person and commit to them, despite our own fear and misgivings. Just because something doesn’t “feel right” at any given moment doesn’t mean it’s wrong.
As someone that’s looking towards marriage, I can tell you that not everything is rainbows and unicorns: I’m excited, but there have also been moments of anxiety, and I think that’s pretty natural. I'm 15 and waiting for marriage and I feel like it's so hard because it seems like there's such a 'limited selection' of guys to 'choose from' but i really really want a Christian guy but it's do hard to be patient and so many of my friends are in relationships and the amount of non-virgins nearly outweigh the virgins in my year
You're stronger than you think. The Bible urges us that the most important thing we must do is to be watchful and prayerful, so always pray for discernment spiritually and naturally. You were made for big things, Jesus says greater things than he did we will do. Heal the sick and make the blind see,press into Jesus because you'll meet ur guy when you're running your race cuz he'll *already* be running his. You're not alone, Im 21 and being pure body,soul,mind,and spirit has saved me a world of heartache and confusion. No one is perfect but It's so worth it ! Don't compromise your integrity or boundaries. Don't waste your waiting like a lot of ppl do, they wind up broken and in pieces, just take a look around u and see through the facade. Run your race with zeal and with passion. He honors those who honor Him and God is faithful. The Bible says, God is not slow as some men see slow instead he is patient waiting on us to come to repentance, God is waiting on u and me to do what we were called to do. Press into God and he will press into you and show u everything u need to know pray for discernement and that God ready you not only for just ur marriage and relationships but that he expose what your purpose is and when u find out why you were put here run after it with all you've got .Wish u all the best!

I understood she meant the goal is marriage, and it is a good thing to get married. When you‘re confident that the person you are with is “the one,” don’t put it off (putting it off will probably be harder and more tempting.) But don’t be rash and naive in making that decision, so take the time you need to make the decision to get married. I hope I got my point across. I’m sorry for the long paragraph.🙂
I really want a boyfriend to help keep me holy but also to do things with. Like going to the park. Doing it by yourself is not that fun.

Love this! I just watched "How to Date" by Passion City Church (podcast) and its the same thing y'all taught!
Dating is "fun" as Sutton says, when you're under age 31. After that, dating is a whole other story. Many people have one marriage under their belt, and may have kids. Plus singles over age 30 tend to be more jaded due the hurdles life throws at them. If you leave it much past 30, you also have to contend with people who are more set in their ways. Plus the Christian single "weirdness" factor is higher if people are over 30. You may have to go through a lot of weird people to find a mate.
I think nowadays it's hard to find a mate even under age of 30. Try to join some christian group, start a hobby, be around people (yeah I know it's hard during covid). You'r not alone, many girls are in the same situation :)

Love you guys, but why did you not say it's sin in God's eyes to live together and there is consequences, to your future generations as word says? I am 63 single now 21 years not by choice was married once to my kids Dad had sex before marriage and then after divorce lived with a man younger. I sit here and watch now the familiar behaviors carried on from the sins of the mothers and fathers. Yes, now forgiven, but they did not listen and have carried on the opened doors and are suffering for it all and wondering why? Tried to share but was not received. I wish I had known what I know now life would of been so different for us all!
