Emacs is awesome! After 20 years of using Emacs I learn literally every day something new about it! This is an incredible exiting journey! Keep up your nice series.
As usual, lots of helpful insights in this video! You mention bookmarks briefly, but have you discussed them at greater length in another video? Or do you think instead that there isn't a relevant enough user case for them?
Thanks! No, I have not covered bookmarks elsewhere. I think they are useful and you should try them: it just is that there is not much more to say about the topic. Bookmarks work exactly like registers, in the sense that they store data you can easily restore/revisit.
@Martin van den Broek You are welcome! Yes, there is a built-in method to save registers (and lots of other variables): it is called `desktop'. You can find everything I have about it in the section of my dotemacs titled "Emacs server and desktop": protesilaos.com/dotemacs/#h:68d57dd2-4df1-4b7a-8766-231216e6cd9c
If you hold Meta or Ctrl and type a multi-digit number it is the same as C-u. I use Meta key because it feels better.
@Robert Davis Thanks for sharing! This is very nice indeed. Pinning the comment for others to see.

Thank you! I use Emacs every day and continuously learn new things about it.

@Jasmin Rahimic Thanks! There are so many interesting topics to cover!
Very nice intro to registers. Thanks ! Is there a way to save all the registers for a later Emacs session ?
