    I have had type 1 diabetes for 20 years.
    My a1c had not been below 9.0 for 17 years.
    When I found you and Freelee when I 1st went vegan 3 years ago my a1c dropped to 6.4 in 3 months!
    I eat fruit, rice, sugar, potatoes and ride my bike as transport.
    My sugar levels are fucken amazing.
    THANKYOU for being on RUclips Harley. My life has changed dramatically, in many ways, because of you. Very grateful for finding your channel.

    I'm in Vietnam and they mostly eat rice and fruit and everyone here is thin and ripped. The men are small but muscular and ripped, when I hang out on the beach every Vietnamese guy seems to have a six pack. Oh yeah, the most popular drink here is fresh Sugar cane juice pressed in a machine known as Nuoc Mia, sold on almost every street corner. It's incredibly delicious, they juice with a bit of lime and sometimes even salt added to it. The overabundance of cheap oils has not infiltrated their diet like it has in Thailand and Malaysia where obesity is becoming somewhat more widespread.

      I was miserable too.. Ever since adding in the starches fruits and refined sugar. I feel much better! Im not as active as I want to be because it's winter where I live and its cold. But man as soon as spring time im gonna be very active from this lifestyle :)

      remember don't binge eat, eat until satiation like the Okinawan and eat from 9 am to 5 pm to not mess your circadian rhythm specially sleep

    i told this information to a type 1 dabetic years ago and he had the same great results....much less insulin needed with very low fat diet.

    Start a "non profit", and then pick your salary!
    If you had an 8 million dollar charity, would you set your salary at 30k a year? 100k a year?

    If you’re thin but focused on vegetables and calories -I find I gain weight with rice and potatoes and fruit -is it possible to ever be able to eat a lot of these foods and stay very lean

    Love ya Harley.. Haven't seen your vids in a while.. Have been messin around w other diets and am fat as hell! 😂😂 So nice to see you still on here. I saw some stuff from probably a few yrs ago hatin on you. Guess the haters were still at it. Hopefully they've given it up and gotten on their dumb lives.. Haha. Excellent points you make in this vid, as usual.. Your girlfriend sounds like an awesome person. Btw, I just bought the audiobook for How Not to Die.. And you guys are right - I am a fat mom trying to take care of 2 rambunctious boys, 9 & 11. And I was recently trying 'intermittent fasting'... oh gawd.... You guys have it - I get energy to do what I need to with smoothies & greens. But if I fast or don't do high carb smoothies, forget it! No freaking energy! God bless you guys and I'm hoppin on the bandwagon again! Wish me luck!❤ btw, agree on these dumb docs selling bags of 'powdered carbs'... one was selling potato flakes but was saying NOT to eat potatoes. Ugh. *Also - re: the insulin subject - the issue is the constantly eating.. For instance, if ppl eat all day long (mainly bc they don't get nutrients & carbs from fruit&veg), their insulin is always up and so they're always storing fat and not burning fat. It's not just sugars that ramp up insulin- even milk revs up insulin.. even stevia and artificial sweeteners which people suck on all day in their coffee and diet drinks. I think this is part of the culprit for how common obesity is. But I am 100% for eating fruit and eating to satiation. Just saying most people nurse drinks all day that do not provide nutrition, but keep insulin levels elevated, not allowing for the burning of excess fat to occur. I don't agree with the docs that sugar is the culprit

    Basically all sugars are the same i add alot of table sugar to my beans potatoes corn or oats.makes it so sweet and just plain energy.thanks alot durian even the science backs your claims(sugar)

    I have a daughter who is 173 cm and weighs less than 50 kg, she started on the vegan way of life, no unhealthy things - sugar, fat oil and the like. She has anorexia. She still lives vegan. How do I get her back to normal?

      It’s been five years, how are things looking up? I’ve been anorexic (on a plant based diet), no matter what you are told, the scary truth, you choose to ignore it.
      I only decided to change when I saw how bad I was looking and feeling, also the brain stuff scared me. If things still have not changed try telling her that you are worried, for her to at least do it for you. Try to reach a realistic goal for her, even if it’s eating 200 calories more everyday. Explain that you can only be healthy if you don’t take things to the extreme, as in calorie deficits. I don’t know how, but try to convince her that calories aren’t evil. This channel helped me heal, I hope things are good now

    Genuine question, is there any reason why a high carb, low fat diet, with lean protein (chicken breast) moderately etc couldn’t or wouldn’t be affective as your diet for weight loss and increased energy? Be interested to hear your thoughts.

    I’ve been anorexic, then I started eating your way, of course I gained weight. Now my family is telling me to not eat carbs, and this makes me scared. They say, that I can get type two diabetes, that I am eating too much sugar, that I have to eat more fat.
    Now I am somewhat scared of carbs again, and am starving myself because I don’t know what to do. People from all sides are talking about different “diets” and “lifestyles” each one has their own proof, yet how come they’re all so different from one another.
    I am confused I am scared, and all I want to do is cry, these days all I feel is hunger, I have no energy, and my menstrual cycle stopped, once again.
    Can anybody provide me with some closure? I just need somebody to tell me something.

      You would be diabetic now as you are starving carbs and getting your cals from day and protein instead.
      Isn’t it amazing you have 4 BILLION slim healthy happy high carb people out there yet you follow the mainstream narratives that sugar is bad and calorie counting is good. You wonder why you feel crazy and weak? 😆❤️

    Isnt sugar whitened with bone char and therefore making it nonvegan?

      Google up the actual process. Char is very rarely used today and if used never actually touches the sugar.

    So let me get this right.....is things like lemonade, cola and pepsi ok? What is then that puts on weight in soda? as opposed to sugars in fruits? Pls make a video on this or link me one I would like to learn what you have to say about this. Good video and agree on every point....nice work!

      @@durianriders Yeah I researching this...as Mc Dougall has some good videos on starches and sugars. Are there are any negative side effects to things like cola and sprite....or is it all good to eat in abundance? Thanks for the quick response....Il tell you something....Ive started going almost 100% plant based again and seeing some serious results with combined with Cycling. If you are ever in London....Surrey area....hit me up for a ride :)

      I think it’s the caffeine in the sodas that raises cortisol levels that causes weight gain, not the sugar.

    Durian, excellent advice, fitness industry tells us eat organic grain fed lean meats, lots of eggs, protein powders, proteins non stop.. then when your body sillouette is like a pear, cut all carbs and very low water intake so for one week maybe you can see your abs and muscles beneath your skin😱💩🤪"Carb the fuck up" dump the meat industry lies and watch your shape changes forever

      Healthy FIRE calorie dense, sure nothing wrong with sugar but it’s the excess sugar that contains too many calories I think that’s why it gets a bad rep. Surely it is better than excess fat tho

Definitely better than excess fats, at least the sugar has the chance to fill up some glycogen first, then it has to go through a process to convert it to fat whilst burning up calories as heat, leaving little, if any, left. Any excess fat just gets shuffled straight into your fat stores by LPL.
