Ian Brown is a song writing genius. The man defines cool on an unattainable level in the British music scene. Ur loved here 4ever in Ireland Mr Brown ❤️🤍🖤
This is just so effing brilliant, isn’t it? Love the 60s guitar licks and then unusual rhythms And the lyrics, just wrapped me up, his is an unusual mind. That’s for sure.
I used to love this song as a teenager. I think it was on MTV and I quickly scribbled down the name and title to remember. The beautiful tune was in my mind for years. I started to search for it a couple of years ago. I'm still in love with it. And it throws me back in time to my carefree childhood years...
Say what you like but I say Bob Dylan ,John Lydon and of the same calibre is the legend that is Ian Brown, absolutely outstanding and make no mistake a true marathon man...
Totally remember this coming out I was blown away. The hole album is Amazing. Thanks Mr Brown for all the great tunes you have done and still to do. 👌🏴
I remember watching this on TOTP instantly obsessed and went through a big brownie period🔥still love his first 3 solo albums!! Man was a vibe🙌🏻looked cool AF too
I like this, it’s sat with me for a good while now. I saw Mr Brown, he was in Manchester. I smiled at the man and for a moment I thought it was a friend I knew, but then I realised it was Ian. Well I didn’t speak to you but I have to tell you, your ‘the man’ . Your music speaks to me, I’ve heard many interviews that you have done. I heard you speak about how you were gonna grow flowers when you left the Roses, and how you went to B and Q and thought , right I’m gonna buy some loft insulation and make a studio and start again. Jesus man you speak volumes to me. I write song, there’s some on here. I went to a pub by your house, it was a wake. I stood suited and booted and the bar girl said she had known you for years. I saw the paintings of you and the great Tony Wilson. You presented hope to me Mr Brown, you see I write, play and sing. There’s some tracks on here..take a listen. But most of all keep those lungs healthy fella. This sounds stalkers like. But we drove past your house, I wanted to look at it. Beautiful place, I wanted to see what it must be like to wake in the morning and piece words together that have such validity that they are then lovingly worked into songs and anthems, I wanted to see how in turn you had changed them into the roof above your head. I felt that if I saw that it might inspire me, it might make me not die with my music still in me. God bless you Ian, you made your words monumental, you created a legacy. I saw you in a gig in Manchester, man I couldn’t here you for the crowd. They were so loyal, so faithful, you believed in the vibrance of your dreams and you painted the picture like a canvas. Whilst other could only picture it. Now have a cup of tea and listen to my offering. ruclips.net/video/i-nXo4clqsQ/видео.html
Awesome track! Bought this album when it was brand new just before going around the world backpacking or a year! Bought a harmonica because of this song! Learned to play it!! Great memories 1998!
That’s truth. Now I’ve watched a few Aziz’s videos talking about his evolution from “the only Pakistani rockabilly” to what he’s done lately, is remarkable. And now I’m hearing things I’d missed.
Ian Brown has been ahuge part of life since i was 15 years old back in 94. I am obsessed with The Roses and obviously King Monkey himself. I had no confidence in myself until thos guy fed it to me. Thevway i dressed and still dress, Adidas mad and the haircut. He put a bit of a swagger in my step and its carrried me well into my 40's. This tune was mine and and old girlfriends go to song.
