The CSX Chesapeake and Ohio Heritage Unit Returns Worse for Wear - Vandalism in Oshawa

- I mentioned in the video of CPKC 528 that people either love or hate the CSX heritage units; but this was a total @ss move by some idiot in Oshawa. CPKC 528 was tied down in Oshawa on April 4th when some total piece of crap snuck into the yard and vandalized CSX 1869 with spray paint all over the nose and side of this locomotive. You must have thought that you were smart and making a "clever" statement, if your intention was to criticize the paint scheme; but you've pretty much guaranteed that ANY Class 1 railroad will think twice about what they send our way as foreign power. Thanks to the d-bag who did this.
Martin caught this run at the same spot that he caught 528 less than a week before. It sure was sad to see what had happened to this locomotive. C&O has a long history in this area. That heritage unit didn't deserve the treatment it got.

That's awful what that vandal did to the heritage unit. Hopefully CSX can get the nose repainted. Probably have to send it back to Waycross for another nose job. Good video though. 👍🏻

It's fixed. Saw it last week in Indiana,,and it looks better that the first time!

I caught 1869 for my first time the day after it had been vandalized. I can’t believe somebody would do that to such a nice locomotive.

I guess someone finally got sick of the dumb CSX crap on the front of these supposed “heritage units.” Would’ve been better if they had painted it over to blend in with the C&O paint! 😂

I knew about this while it was happening, and the reports said it was vandalized in Mexico.
I think that was actually a CP unit. This all happened in Oshawa, Canada; but the unit has already been repainted.
I still hate it after CSX repainted the cab area CSX colors again.
