Holy shit. Really good. But now I am wondering, you certainly like the FLCL OST, and I bet you probably like the Pillows in general (other albums that are not attached to FLCL). So I would love to know, what are some of your favorite The Pillows songs that aren't in the FLCL OST?
I know you weren't asking me...but I'll give an answer anyways 😁 Their album 'Little Busters' has some absolute bangers that weren't in the show, of which "Like a Lovesong (Back to Back)" and "Nowhere" are two of my favorites. The album as a whole is one that I sometimes play in the background while working, so really I like the entire thing front to back. If 'Happy Bivouac' didn't have "Last Dinosaur" on it, this one would probably be my favorite of all their albums. Speaking of which, though...'Happy Bivouac' is another one that had most of its songs on FLCL, but all three songs that didn't make also rank in my favorite by the band: "Rush," "Kim Deal," and "Back Seat Dog." They had the album 'Thank You My Twilight' in 2002, and its title track, while it was used in the later seasons of FLCL, was and still is one my favorite Pillows songs ever, anime or otherwise. The opening track "Rain Brain" is also unbelievably catchy. 'My Foot' was the album that came out right after FLCL really got popular in the US, so the album is very nostalgic to me. I think a few of these songs were also used in the later FLCL seasons, like "The Third Eye," "My Girl" and the title track, all of which are amazing. But also check out "Rock'n'Roll Sinners" (try not to sing along to that chorus!), "Mighty Lovers" and "Sayonara Universe." From 'Trial', there's the song "Comic Sonic." Nothing out of the ordinary, just an absolutely classic Pillows jam on a non-classic Pillows album. So hopefully that helps. If you find some you like, feel free to share them too!
