My deepest condolences to the family of this teacher who seemed, based on our feelings, was called home prematurely. May her soul Rest in Eternal Peace! I am a retired educator of 45 years. Teaching is a very demanding profession. It is of utmost importance that one dedicate some time to self-care.
This teacher had headaches and was ailing for quite some time with very little health care. Had they done the MRI sooner, maybe the outcome would have been different. With health care the way it is, we sometimes downplay our illnesses and trust to luck. I am deeply saddened for this family, and pray God’s strength on the family at this time of great loss!
Jamaican hospitals need resources no equipment in the hospitals, sometimes I wander what the doctors and nurses work with.

And you pay them more than the Jamaican nurses..It should be the same..
They will get the same pay, there is a salary scale that exist, check Ministry of Finance, The most they can do is probably give them somewhere to live at a discounted rate.
Philippines historically earn lower than Jamaicans so I doubt that
Place a 3 years ban on the agencies that are recruiting nurses to work in other countries. That’s a no brainer. Your nurses are being taken by other countries then you have to recruit from other countries? 🤷🏽♀️🤦♀️
The nurses, teachers, etc are looking for better pay and treatment in other countries the same way that others from even lower paying countries come to Jamaica. The last thing I want is a miserable, low paid nurse that would rather not be treating me.
Cant do that that is bad for international relations, if you stop that, they can stop other things like trade for example...

Hmm. I know for a fact that some of these foreign workers use Jamaica as a stepping stone to go to the US, Canada or UK. So is that an answer to the problem 🤔☹️
I know of several Indian and Cuban nurses who did just that.

This is why I can't stand people who have blind loyalty to politicians. Jamaicans are suffering because of inefficient hospital service and you choose to defend the government rather than urge the current administration to fix the problem. The next set of fools will do the same when their party is in power and the issues will never be solved.

Increase the salary of the existing health workers. The salary doesn't attract persons to chose the career. If you calculate the salary of the imported workers to what you are offering your people it is outer disgrace.😢😢😢😢

Why TVJ don't send journalists in the Hospitals to investigate what the Jamaican people is facing every Day. All these Radio stations and Television Stations Control or payed by Government.

In the past, I used to see investigative journalism, it seems it's a thing of the past.
My late mom use to go clinic at KPH from 5AM to get number some time is 1/2 day to hold day and that was from the 90's
Recruiting doctors and nurses from countries where there are major shortcomings in professional practices is dangerous 🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩. What due diligence has the health minister undertaken and based on what comes to light, will they go through a re-orientation process? What may be acceptable and commonplace in one culture may be quite unacceptable here.

People have to wait at hospital/ER for hours right here in the US which is a developed country moreover poor Jamaica. Is because nuff a them no travel or have to go at one when they travel. I can attest to that. All 6or 7 hours in waiting room. So make them stay there a chat.

Philipino nurses are expensive in the long run and they will take their families with them . That will not help the economy. Philipino men do not work as their nurse wives are the bread winner . Listen I live overseas and I visit hospitals for treatment from time to time, some time s the waiting times is six to eight hours before you get treatment

The waiting time is still attrocious even with ..customer service facility put in place to help..and dont even start with (priority)..because I have first hand experience...Having history of blood clot.. I pressented with chest pain and took over an hour before the so call "triage"..
