I love making sketchbooks / notebooks...I buy cheap sketchbooks at the dollar store and cut them down, and I typically wrap the covers in either canvas or some cute tea towel or pillow case fabric, both also from the dollar store.
I actually started making sketchbooks just cuz watercolor sketchbooks are so pricey and then to recycle old paper I had lying around. I'm hooked now cuz commercial sketchbooks don't have that look, ya know, the look 👌 I just use coptic stitch with chipboard covers. all u need is paper, board, thread and some time. Best part is that they lay completely flat. sea lemon, here on YT has some awesome tutorials. def recommend.

I cut out the pages of an old hardback book and used that as the cover, also i covered it with some old curtain material n it looks pretty swaggy ngl. It’s been really hard for me to draw lately cause I can’t seem to fill my sketchbook and get my characters and people to look the way that I want to but you keep me motivated to keep trying again. Heey!! I just discovered your channel and this is the second video I watched after the filling your sketchbook tips. Absolutely loving it! I have tried making a sketchbook my own before. I had an A4 sketchbook (I don’t usually like big sketchbooks) so I cut few paper, folded them, stitched and I had a new sketchbook :D sadly it’s not filled yet even though it’s very few pages. I use a ruler and a cutter to clean the edges, they usually come out cleaner. But you may also need to sand them in some cases. Thanks for the video! Makes me want to make another sketchbook and trying different paper in one :)
I made a sketchbook using a tutorial by: Sea Lemon I heard about it from another artist I subscribed to on here its a different process from the one you showed but it's also a good one! 😊

I only made one crappy notebook thingy, but I've been thinking about making a sketchbook recently, since I can't really find one that would be 100% perfect
It's a constant effort 😭 I recommend using some hair color along with your conditioner when you shower, It helps a lot to keep the color fresh :3 If you have dark hair and your roots grow out all brassy, using purple shampoo also helps to even out the color a lot (my roots get s o yellow and it's gross)

Thank youu! 💕 Glad you're enjoying it I use the color Frosé from Arctic Fox! It's really good and comes in large bottles so you can keep the color fresh for a while. I highly recommend it but you do have to get your hair pretty light to get it to show up well. I bleach mine to about a level 9 or 10 but my hair is extremely tolerant of bleach.

I used a pallet from Artistrove that I got on Amazon for a really long time, I highly recommend cheap little potable pallets like that (especially if you like water brushes). They're really functional!
I got them on eBay! I bought them kind of impulsively, so in the future I'd probably check to make sure they aren't stolen art or anything before purchasing
I have questions for ur sketchbooks. I recently finished a I thought to be 70-60lb sketchbook and want to do a sketchbook that the same but bigger online it says 74lb but acts very bad to worpping and lot of colour shadowing. I'm only on my 3rd ish page when I did some tests cause. its annoying to buy a expensive (its 11x14) sketchbook and not be able to use it properly do you know of anything to help other then using a decent acrylic paint to cover this and and extra sheet or two under the page?

I used to to that and it's totally fine! Especially if your products bleed through the pages. I used to do it and the only reason I draw on both pages now is bc I like doing two page spreads and whatnot :3
I have also made my own homemade sketchbook too! I took some paper from my normal sketchbook and folded them Then, I painted the top piece of paper and the back one to make the cover, and finally I glue the folded area of the papers together now you have a crappy “sketchbook”
