    I see these pop up from time to time in great condition for stupid cheap money . One day .

      Be careful! This one looked just as it does in the video when I bought it but needed a lot of work to be mechanically sound. The fuel pump and everything else inside the gas tank had to be replaced ($600), and I had all the splines lubed which means taking the back half of the bike off to get to the front spline ($$). New tires, throttle sync, fork rebuild.... But she sure was beautiful!

      Splines. Must be serviced regularly and not a cheap job.

      the splines , lube front and back with molly lube , every time you change the rear tire .
      easy thing to do and it makes them last a long time .
      if you already bought one do it right away or the splines fail .

      @@arc001 it doesn't take five minutes to get to the front splines and they have been known to fail. There's a service interval. It's quite a job.

      @@arc001 sorry. I was referring to the input splines. Which fail.

    Idle speed adjust? It's a choke, literally the light is going on, when you turn it.

    • @briancraft22
      @briancraft22  2 года назад +1

      The bike is fuel injected. It's an idle speed adjust used upon initial cold start.

      I don't know! Had a trusted mechanic do all the work. Try one of the K bike forums!

      The typical problem is that the little plastic gears in the unit get brittle and break. There are rebuild kits to fix the problem, and I think there are places to send your speedometer unit for refurbishment. Or you can do what I did - find a new old stock replacement.

    • @sorrowstaylor2910

      Change it....or don't use it. Mine is behaving funny when it's cold, my father's is not working for 15 years. He just knows his gear/RPM ratio (I know it's not ratio, but couldn't find a better word) and accordingly the speed.

    Good grief, man, if you're going to do a video, you have to "talk" in a clear and concise manner, no fumbling & mumbling around. Nice machine, tho.
