It works for me. I buy rolls of led tape on line. I use it for many projects. Mostly RC Planes. I ended up using it above all my cupboards as night lights using blue. I also found you can buy channels made of aluminum with frosted sleeves you can cut to length I put under all my cabinets. It looks nice and was dirt cheap.
Little tip: Room temp is enough usually to bend most leds. Leave it on your dash in direct sunlight while setting up the rest of your wiring or mounting setup.
7:21 another reason to seal that connection is weather. When it rains, if that connection is exposed it'll short. I'm not sure how you have this wired whether it has an in line fuse or not but if it doesn't a short will fry your cars computer.
It looks so cheap/after-marketish’... Maybe if your van was black it would’ve blended in. Or if the led strips had a clear back instead of black. Otherwise looks cool only at night. *I came to see how the wire is ren through of the car not taking the adhesive off and placing it on which is a no-brainer. lol
I'm getting ready to install Turn Signal LED Strips down the length of my mom's Prius... Would that tape you're using work or should i stick with Duct Tape? I bet your Car Customs shop gets tons of business making tons of money. Your boyfriend is so lucky.
+George Gardinier I did rip them apart and then threw it in the trash. The failure was from water getting into the wiring to the light and oxidizing and breaking.
I suggest to you guys buying a raplacement of a mirror blinker for another vehicle that has a similiar mirror shape/size and make your own mirror blinkers with a better material and looks.
hi, i just noticed that you should haw drilled the hole on the inner side off the, mirror oand ceeped the wires on then it would looked much better and you would not see the wires and you should glue or somethinge on the exposed + and - if water hits it, it wil burn the led's just a tip :)
I want to do this for a Scooter, I built a frame in the back to hold a small billboard for advertising, but I need people to see my turn signals at a far, or when I break. The scooter battery is small, so it will be drained if I put to much lights that require more power. I want to put a external battery to support it all. My question is how do I connect the LED lights to a small battery and still be sequential to the timing of the turn signals. I could look at a video on how to put led lights on a motorcycle, but I don't know how to connect the external battery. I was hoping to put a couple of double A batteries.
Looks great. I'm planning on doing something like that myself and wanted to get your advice/opinion. If you already hadn't previously drilled the hole for the last install, would you have drilled a hole to run the wire at the other side of the mirror. In other words, at the other end of the light strip.
I only drilled the hole because I think it gives it a more cleaner look. If you don't want to, you can place the strip right up to the edge of the mirror and just wrap the wire to the inside.
I'm sorry, I knew the way I asked was confusing. First off, I totally agree with you that drilling a hole is the way to get a much cleaner finished look. And I plan on drilling a hole also. What I was asking was about the location of the hole. If looking at the passenger side mirror housing from the front of the car, you drilled on the left edge. Would it be any better appearance wise, to drill the hole on the right edge. The edge where the housing mounts to the door. I was just thinking the point where I'll need to apply the sealant to protect the soldered connection might be less noticeable. What do you think? Again, thanks for the posting and getting back to me.
hey nice video again... how bright is it? also....quick question...have you thought about the 360 bird view camera system...they are 150 on alibaba right now...i wish you can make a video on that...that would be awesome
+Sunny Sharif These LED strips are perfect for turn signals. Bright enough in day and perfect for night. As for the 360 camera, I have not seen them before but thanks for letting me know. Will look into it.
the 1st bump u hit, or the 1st time u fold ur mirrors in, id expect them to stop working. thanks for the idea of how NOT to do an install. lol curiosity question tho--------when ur driving (straight) at night w/headlights on, and no turn signal, are ur strips LIT UP (like how big 4X4 trucks have 'running' lights on mirrors) ???
Thanks for the video. Can someone explain why you would bother to click "dislike" on this video? First, what's not to like, after watching you know more than you knew before, and even if you would never be able to use the knowledge, why even take the energy to dislike it? I'm thinking that you need to get a life.
Quality shit man, some people just can’t be helped, if they were worth a crap they’d know they could get any better looking strip of their choosing but using the same instal techniques, you get what you want with this. All the things people are complaining about is just plain stupid
not bad i wish they would sell led light stripes made into a V or an arror so i could use them on my mirror side "red led" as turn signals like some of these newer truck
You know honestly after watching the video why would you include the link to the product? Two sided tape that doesn't stick and poorly soldered connections pretty much nail the lid on the coffin for me. Plus I don't think they look very good.
Funny Video. The LED strips you are using are really for indoor use. They might have a plastic cover but are not waterproof. You had a good idea but like others have said it is kind of ghetto looking. It is like getting a new paint job for your car using a paint brush and a gallon of paint. At the end of the day it does not look good. A good car or truck upgrade should look like it came from the factory when you are finished installing it.
Watched the damn whole video and at the end you tell me to watch another video on how to wire it up?? The wiring is the difficult job anyone can figure out how to apply some sticky tape.
what a piece of crap! broken lead, tape doesn't work, it will be 2 yrs. and you will be back replacing them. do you wash your cars by hand or do you use the car washes with spray jets because I don't think the ones with brushes would leave this on your car afterwards, Prbly be hanging by the wires.
Looking sharp! Nice to see I am not the only one keeping up the Quest!
Thank you!
Looks good in the dark but cheap in the day.
100% agree

Wow!! Looks bright and nice at night. You gave me an idea for my car .Thank you for sharing
Nice job! They look decent. Would really love an update on how well they stand up to the elements.
Still working to this day.
Still?

I like it! I'd like to put this on my headlight but I'm afraid to...I'm sure it would look great at night. Thank you for the video.
You did a very nice install of this, thank you for showing this.
Hoe did yiu wired thr led light? I was not able to find your video. I plan to install one for mu 2023 Nissan Ariya. Thx
Do you have a star for the top of the vehicle?
Very nice job, professional in everything you did, you do nice work.
Thanks for your comment!
Hey it needed to be said, very nice job, and i learned a trick or two, so thank you for your video.
It looks so cheap/after-marketish’... Maybe if your van was black it would’ve blended in. Or if the led strips had a clear back instead of black. Otherwise looks cool only at night.

Very nice job. That automotive tape is great. Have you thought of illuminating your cup holders with leds?
So after 6 months have they Survival Or Have They gone a Bit Foggy hazy color?
Not foggy, still works and look the same.

Great video; I learnt quite a few tricks.
+12vgs8606 Thanks!

good video as always, can or will you do a video diagnosing why the failure. how many years will it take for these to fail.
+George Gardinier I did rip them apart and then threw it in the trash. The failure was from water getting into the wiring to the light and oxidizing and breaking.
really nice home installation better then trailer park.

Man you are very creative! 👍
(Watching in 2018) An imaginative idea and an excellant video. Thank you.

Very good job. I would of tucked it behind the glass mirror as my starting point
How are these holding up?
I find the factory led lights for the Honda accord 2003 look visually aesthetically nice
Another great video, as always :)
+Ashish Wadhawan Thanks for your comment!
@@dial2fast you didn't put the link to the video of how you ran the wire. Can you put that as a reply to my comment here?
@@ogo2k3 Here you go: ruclips.net/video/Pb5rzOOjg6o/видео.html
looks nice , i would like to see a Video , in which you show how to install LEDs under the car :D
too bad they look really dim in direct sunlight
but at least they look awesome at night
good DIY install love your videos
hey I am interested in the name of crome cover to the foglight
resale value for this vehicle just dropped😂
😂😂😂😂
What resale value? Lol
It's a nissan. Zero resale value anyway
Nice job!
Love your channel, thanks!
Thanks for your comment!
Version 3 needs to be the side mirror plastic cut and the lights flush with the side mirror to make it look like one piece 👍
Waterproof?
Where will be avlable this led stripe
Very neat I must say. Thank you for your time and video. VERY NICE indeed..
Thanks for your comment!

I thought about doing this myself, but i think this exact way is a bit tacky looking
Can find on Amazon

God damn that looks like shit.. thank you for telling me what *not to do!* I can't believe I even thought about doing this shit
Nname Withheld lmao I almost bought an LED strip to do this.
LMFAO
Good job Sir!
Looks great!
I'm going to put this on my 86 Pontiac Fiero
Quality shit man, some people just can’t be helped, if they were worth a crap they’d know they could get any better looking strip of their choosing but using the same instal techniques, you get what you want with this. All the things people are complaining about is just plain stupid
Nice lights,
well done o'l mate maybe it may have looked better if the led's had a clear backing
instead of black..otherwise 2thumbs up..
Good job....👍
Great video .thanks
not bad i wish they would sell led light stripes made into a V or an arror so i could use them on my mirror side "red led" as turn signals like some of these newer truck
skulledmonte84 they sell those on ebay for like 5 bucks!
Hahaha already broke right out of the box 🤣🤣😂😂.
Get clear air tubing, slice in half. Make a lens/diffuser. Dab of clear silicone caulk each end. The individual LED is not attractive.
I don't know, it's 2016... led strips just look ugly if applied in this manner.
fuck off!
2018 and still ugly. Lol
I mean its a fucking mini van. Who the hell cares
Good to see a real expert passing on his wisdom. But don’t leave your day job.
Very nice overall
+Jursaw Thank you!!
Hey nice video
Is this for real? Is everyone being serious or sarcastic?
Very nice .
الله يبارك
Tape coming off, maybe because you heat it up a little
awesome
amazing!
i will do the same on my truck!
The only fault was, tooooo long. Cutting it a little shorter would make it more modern
Good idea - Looks too Cheesy !!!!!!!!
hmm 😓 looks like we got a amateur ricer here 😂
I think it be mucccchhhh better if they were only like a couple inches. Looks more realistic
Dude that's a Mexican style.
Worse than that really.
This led strip isn't to outdoor use..
like youre videos btw :)
Lol this is the most ghetto thing I seen in 2022 only a 15 year old kid would think of this lean idea 😂😂
You know honestly after watching the video why would you include the link to the product? Two sided tape that doesn't stick and poorly soldered connections pretty much nail the lid on the coffin for me. Plus I don't think they look very good.
oh sry didnt watch it to the end :P you did cover it up :)
Awsome

Too much Drama.😐
But if you wash the car this proplem
It's waterproof
Watched the damn whole video and at the end you tell me to watch another video on how to wire it up?? The wiring is the difficult job anyone can figure out how to apply some sticky tape.
Who does shit like this? LoL
Se ve horrible sin estetica
WOW! These LED lights are getting stupid as fuck! Why not make a car that's one big LED?
what a piece of crap! broken lead, tape doesn't work, it will be 2 yrs. and you will be back replacing them. do you wash your cars by hand or do you use the car washes with spray jets because I don't think the ones with brushes would leave this on your car afterwards, Prbly be hanging by the wires.
+gizmo I wash it myself at home. Not really sure how long these will last. Only time will tell.
Sure sux when you have to fix broken leads right off. Hope it lasts longer for you.
gizmo
Worst looking mod ever. In no way does that look OEM.
no! JUST NO!!
made in china
its ugly on that mirror. but nice vid
When I see your car on the road I'm ripping those LED's right off. what a hack job... Thumbs DOWN my friend
Sorry dude but it looks so ugly like hell
That took too much work considering how shitty they look and how easily they are going to stop working.
