theres 2 things i gotta say: 1, the whole scene where the dragonets in the wingery telling scarlet to rename the nightwings to somthingwings or NightmareFaces its so sad 2, in winter turning the dragon breaking out of animus spell is like skin ripping in this book its way more well *disgusting* edit: also right now this book looks out of place on my shelf bcuz i just got it but it will look like just another book when i get darkstalker legends or even talons of power graphic novels
I've had the book for about a week now, and to be honest I love the details on Peril's scales. Instead of always being gold like in Book 1 or always red in later books, its gold if she's feeling emotional, like in the book, to show hotter fire, and red if Peril's chilling. I LOVED the variation.
I love how they went nuts on the blood, severed head, & drew the transformations in the most grotesque ways possible for no reason & then censored Scarlets' dead body like THAT would've been too far
I just sat down and over about 9 hours read the whole thing with my little book light and some movie soundtracks and loved it so much! Your review is spot on, the character art and expressions have notably improved and the backgrounds are amazing! This particular story is also a really good one, and the ending OH MY! So dramatic! I always thought what would this look like if fully movied out with cinematography and timing and weather and whatnot... This Graphic Novel does a fabulous job letting the turn of the page reveal the big moments! (Even if we know they are coming because we love the books so much already!) I may in fact go back and listen to the audiobook for this one again just to really experience it all over again with a new visual library from the graphic novel in my head... Your totally also right about the abundance of text bubbles to really adapt the novels well! It helps a lot! I give it, 3 Moons! 🌒🌗🌕 This is very inspiring I Can't wait for the next one!

I got this one for Christmas and finally finished it! It was BEAUTIFUL! All through it I kept thinking how amazing the expressions were! I loved how in the fight scene the rain lines match through all the panels most of the time! It was just a nice detail that pulled it together more I think. And I LOVED the way the transformations were done in this one! Page 94 is probably my favorite! It just SCREAMS what is happening so well!

this graphic novel made me even more excited for the darkstalker one. last night O stayed up reading all of it. the fight scene was insane. and Cliff IS EVEN MORE CUTE THEN I THOUGHT. I also love how chameleon looks in the graphic novel
The part where winter and peril crash into each other by accident is one of my favorite scenes in all of the books, I can't wait to see it in graphic novel form!
I would have bought it- we went to Barnes and Noble recently, and there was one singular copy of the book there. My mom refused to let me purchase the book (and the limited edition first book) because I had asked for it on my list. I feel like ima cry for how close I was to getting a copy😢😭

This is a good book review although I do kinda not like Turtle’s drawing but it is fine. ;) But my favorite part was where Peril set something on fire and Avalanche being really annoyed and the page where Peril almost killed Winter. :)

Escaping peril was one of the best books in the series in my opinion and even in the scene when peril gets rid of her firescales I had a dream of that when I feel asleep after reading it lol. Can't wait for this book!

OMG THIS IS SO GOOD! I CANT AGREE MORE ABOUT THE ART! SO WELL DONE! But… I have realized that in the graphic novels 6, 7, and 8, darkstalker is missing his tear drop scale. This was very disappointing for me, as the scale is a sign, and the only sign of mind reading, so the pictures only make it seem like Mike may have lost some interest? No hate to Mike Holmes btw, I think that they were just some mistakes, as he is a great artist. I wonder what book 9 is going to look like! 😊
I 100% LOVED this book! everything I wanted and more.... Except with Scarlet being my favorite character, it made me a little disappointed when we didn't actually get to see her neck snapped on screen. Don't get me wrong! AMAZING gore and fighting, but I really wanted to see her full dead body :C
One thing I did notice with the bit you showed was how BAD turtle looked! They made him such an ugly green. He's one of my faves and this just feels like an injustice. Disappointed :( Every thing else looks amazing though!
