Well I don't know where you all live, but it is hot here and leather does not fare well and also: Toyota SofTex is a synthetic leather material (thermoplastic polyurethane) that’s designed to take a great deal of wear and tear. It’s easy to clean, stain- and spill-resistant, soft to the touch, durable against tears, and weighs half as much as genuine leather material. Best of all, because Toyota is trying to be as eco-friendly as possible, the assembly of synthetic SofTex leather produces 85% fewer CO2 emissions and 99% fewer Volatile Organic Compounds than typical leather materials. It’s also a vegan material, as no animals are harmed in the making of SofTex.

It is noisy….not much sound deadening below or rear…..sort of cavernous sounding if that makes sense to you. More road noise than I expected at all. Not a 40k ride at all.
I just got the XLE Premium, and my only complaint is that I can hear some wind noise (it sounds like the window is just slightly down) when I accelerate above 70. It's not constant, but it can be a little annoying on a $37,000 car.
I did not consider CRV concerned of 1.5 litre turbo oil dilution issues very recently. I did consider the reliable CX-5 though. CX-50 had more reported issues as it’s a newer vehicle.
