I had one it was called avanti in India and I modified it a electronic coil after which there was no need to pedal and start, a light push would do & I was sceptical if it would work but when it did I was the happiest and taught I would or could build a rocket 🚀 lol but that was the ending stages of that engine as not much of parts were available it hurt me to junk it 😭 eventually I did but I dream on Still of that beautiful diamond 💎 of a bike ❤️ marvelous engineering. Cheers to this rebuild as well... 👍🏻
Your the man for the job! Obviously it's not possible but if only this bike could be re produced again. Great to see your keeping this bike preserved Great vid thanks
Firstly, love your vids! :) Im just in the process of rebuilding my Tiger cross which ive owned for 42yrs! Ive rebuilt the bottom end but seem to have done something wrong with starter shaft reassembly, it turns anticlockwise ok but locks up solid when turned clockwise instead of turning the engine over? Any ideas what the problem could be??....
Been having a think, all I can suggest is that you check the location of the wire piece attached to the ratchet gear. It should line up with the 2 webs in one half of the crankcase, I think it allows the start ratchet to slide correctly. There is a Facebook group with knowledgeable people on it; Garelli Moped Group UK. Someone there might know better.
Very informating video, but i need some help assembling the " gear selector shaft" i can't seem to get it right, and i can't find any clear pictures anywhere. Can you help me with this assembly ? thanks in advance !
Any idea why my Tiger gearbox pours oil out of the relief valve on top? Just had it completely rebuilt, new gasket, piston, barrel, head and still piddles out the top! Not over-filled at all.
They all seem to push oil out from here. See a comment on the Garelli Moped facebook page facebook.com/groups/279411739177912. I have put a pipe on it that directs the overflow onto the chain. I believe it should have 450cc of oil.
Hi Great Video's thanks. I am rebuilding my Tiger Cross the gear change selector is mounted with two screws but can be adjusted up and down via the slot in the mounting bracket fow do you determine the correct position for this in order for the gear changes to be smooth and positive. Thanks
@@garellipedia4036 I have a Garelli Manuel and it loosely refers to setting up a bracket on some bolts to hold the other end of the gear change shaft before offering the other crank case side and adjusting it whilst changing gears I would imagine this position would change slightly due to wear

Yes, I've always left mine alone for fear of making it worse, not better!
