    The mountain biking on Tai mo Shan is amazing... lived in HK for 10years. The trails take you through sub tropical forest, there's all sorts of wild life including wild boars and snakes too. Fall and spring is the absolute best time to ride.

    This is so funny. I went to Hong Kong for a VISA run in Feb of this year and I did the Tai Mo Shan...although I didnt know what I was doing. I just checked strava and we climbed the same mountain ( I could not climb it all, it was getting late....). Keep up the videos!

    @11:50 there is already an MTR station ( Tsuen wan west-west rail line) and you get in there, ride one stop to mei foo, then you can change back to tsuen wan metro line.... why go all the way up hill to Lai king station... heavy traffic!!!!lots of bad air...

    Last time i went there i saw "Cloud sea" the cloud covered the hills, and suppose you should go and back by the route, the road you go back is for XC MTB

    Jasper, what tyres/width are you running on your road bike in this video?

  • @Fredddoh
    @Fredddoh 7 лет назад

    Awesome. I used to live on the other side of the mountain - Kam Tin (not Tsuen Wan). if you do want to repeat this climb again, you can go from a train station called Tai Po. You get a nice flat-ish bit of road to cycle before you get to the foot of the climb but it is just a dual-lane carriage way with often large trucks and stuff. Either way, you do make me miss hong kong!
    Another popular really flat route is a 25-30km route which starts by disney land and heads towards the airport. That's quite a nice ride. Anyways, next time you're there say hi to hong kong for me! :)

    Hi mate, next time if you have more time there is a better way to climb to the midpoint. Off the main road, totally no cars and through the national reserve. Let me know if you want the gpx. Cheers

    Hey Jasper, I realise that your rental bike has mechanical disc brakes on them! Do you mind sharing your experience using them? especially since there were some pretty steep descends! Thanks

    • @belexian
      @belexian 7 лет назад

      Was thinking maybe i could save some money and use mechanical disc brakes, but guess i'll have to go with hydraulics then! Thanks for replying Jasper. Btw, awesome Vlog!! Really enjoy your videos! Cheers
