The wire is such a rich person problem 😂 I just looked out my window and noticed 5 wires for the first time
Yes, that is Julia's husband, writer & producer Brad Hall. They met in college and married in 1987.
I thought they met at SNL.
@@wvu05 They were members of a comedy troupe in college. (Hall was one of the founders.) SNL hired some of the troupe's members, including Dreyfus and Hall in 1982.
@@ellet6560 I did not know that came first. Thanks for the info!
You guys gotta do a few of these a week. Feels like forever watching the next one
Same with Parks n Rec...
That is Julia's actual husband, Brad Hall----they were on SNL together back in the early 80's
My guy, The Wire has some of the most sophisticated storytelling in tv history. Due, in part, to the show runner having been a journalist in Baltimore. Season 2 is definitely a lull but it pays off structurally. It’s not some popcorn marvel bs, it is complex and beautifully human. Give it a proper crack
Curb is up there with It's always sunny.
Curb gets so much better towards later episodes while Sunny is peak in early seasons. Love them both though
Facts
gotta disagree
@@mrqwerty005 Curb needed some time. I think it's because of the loose and improvisational format. Also other characters like Leon and Funkhauser which came later. The set ups and pay offs are great though.
"Something wrong with my stomach " line is too funny
Kleptomaniac is someone who cant control their urge to steal things. Its a bad maniac but pyromaniac is worse for sure.
the young girls joke about jerry was kinda crazy since he has some controversy around that
One girlfriend who got a brand out of it
@@yournamehere6002 really? Damn😂
@@kungfubrandon6886 Shoshanna. If you see her, you wouldn't blame Jerry either.
@@yournamehere6002 idk🤣
@@kungfubrandon6886 you're a better man than me or Jerry
Great episode, great reaction! One of my faves.
"I gotta call Seinfeld..." love that line but I imagine Jerry being on the East Coast, it's hours later... So screw the cut-off I guess.
Probably my favorite episode from season 1.
Suzy berating Jeff is always the best to me. Can't wait til you get to a certain part in a certain episode that I replayed numerous times because of her berating him. 😂😂
Omar comin!
Dean's memory seems great, did he find a good supplement?
Taking The Wire off the table is unfortunate. Nothing's perfect, but it deserves being put on the pedestal that it is more than any other acclaimed show, IMO.
I'd like to see Oz on here...
Cut off is 1:30 AM if you are drunk.
7 o'clock is the cut-off for some people, lol. Well, at least when you're texting a woman.
Guys do you realize that no one in this show acts normally LOL you gotta lean into it
Don't beat yourself up. There are plenty of prestige shows I couldn't get into, either. I didn't have HBO during The Wire, but I just couldn't get into The Sopranos (I get that James Gandolfini is a great actor, but the character just annoyed me) or Breaking Bad.
Ye
I never watched The Wire, but everyone says it's great and that it's based on a true story?
kleptomania is stealing
Just fyi, this is pretty much agreed to be the worst episode of the entire show, so it's all up from here on out
Wait really? I can think of like 20 episodes worse than this off the top of my head. I really enjoy this one.
Season 2 The Wire is one that made me stop, went back to it got past that season and it really gets better past that. Now if you didn't like S1 then you wouldn't like anything else, but S2 has always been a rough season imo
I watched the first ever episode. I found it so dull I never watched again.
I know The Wire is a critically acclaimed show, and I’m sure it’s good when it’s good, it if a show gets good in season 3, they’ve already lost me.
@@wavehellhole americans would like the wire more than people from europe. It focuses on inner city gang life and drug dealing in Baltimore. You get POV from the drug dealers/thugs, law enforcement and city and state political figures. They all tie together. The writing is unbeatable. Very violent too.
Season 2 is great on rewatches. I think the shock of the change of setting is a big part of why it's so off putting on first viewing
Season 2 is a fine wine. The first time you watch and season 2 is the way it is, it's a shock to the system, such a pivot. But it's actually great in the grand scheme of things and is like it's own little thing that has it's own merits to it.
